but bought a Fabia instead.

As well. ;)

At the end of the day we are not talking about expensive cars.

An 05, 06 and 56 plate.

All of which I expect to get on the road under £2,300. (Each)

For reference, it came to me like this:

That looks very clean and tidy - how far out are the wings, and is it a DIY job to straighten them?

Wings are fine, but there is a little kink by the side of the headlights.  That's all.

It needs the lights taking out and then the sloping bit of the wings that runs next to the light lenses tapping straight.

But I'm not sure it's worth spending time doing as it'll add to the cost of the car.

As it is, I think it'll be a nice car for someone who wants to pay less, but tinker with.

As it is now, it stands me in £2,289.20p

Bargain. How many miles has this one done?

117k.

But as it came through the auction it has no service history as that doesn't get passed on usually with a Cat C or D.

Have checked the belt and it looks good.  Car certainly drives well.

If only I had the cash. I would love another vrs as my commuter to keep the yellow off the motorways abit more.

Very clean and tidy especially considering the mileage! Some lucky person is going to get a really good deal!

Got this back now.

New Cambelt, new waterpump and a service done.

Along with a good used turbo from the Pastywagon as clearly that was why it was sold.  Old turbo was jammed solid.

183k miles, but it goes well.

New MOT on it too.

Interior needs a bit of TLC still though.

Stands me in £1,874.91p, so not too bad.

About the cost of retro fitting Xenons then ;)

I was looking at the prices of OEM Xenons the other day, ouch :(

I notice on the o/s/f fog grill it's got a Sensor for adaptive cruise, nice touch for a mk1 vrs......... He he

Last one has just turned up.

I'm guessing by the front mount intercooler and exhaust it wasn't exactly standard...

It's gone over something low, damaged the front bumper a little right at the bottom and bent the sump.

More checking needed to assess the full extend of the damage, but I do have a spare engine (with service history) in the Pastywagon still.

Handy.

If you decide you don't want the exhaust, i'll take it off you. ;)

To be honest I don't really want any of the performance bits.

But I'll need time to go over the car and see how tuned it is and what the best plan of action is.

Shotgun certain parts ;)

I'll happily take the intercooler as well, if not required. ;)

I've got a standard exhaust if you want to put it back to standard. :)

in for a penny...

i'll take the alloy pedal covers if it's being stripped.

that said i'll take the ones out of the PastyWagon back if it's due to become a glorified parts bin ;)

It's died well Pasty, sacrificed so three other Red Fabia VRS's can return to the road. :D

£500 to get the pillar sorted kind of sealed it's fate...
