(Im guessing) but surely The cost of the Gleam Machine guys doing it would be greater than the cars value? :D

Hang on... you've had this a few weeks now and aside from the (rather lovely) tax disc holder; its still standard. Have I entered an alternative reality where BossFox has sensible car buying habits?!

Minty looked in surprising good condition when I saw it in the flesh on Wednesday.  I couldn't see any dirt and paint looked pretty fresh for the age of car, etc.  Just the dented bootlid which lets it down but as said, that's probably a good thing in London traffic as people behind will realise you don't really care about the condition of your car and give a wider berth :D

To be honest I'm getting a bit bored of new flashy cars.

They are so capable a lot of the fun is removed unless you are driving in the kind of manner you shouldn't be on the road.

My R35 came alive on track, but it's like driving a family saloon on the road unless you want to look like a nutter.

It only makes sense for the occasional boost and the looks/attention and I'm not too fussed about the latter.

Probably why I drove to work yesterday in the Fantasy Green Fabia...

Rather than have that money tied up in a car it's probably more use as another house deposit.

Assuming I get a bite on it of course. :)

Come to the conclusion I like fun, non-flappy paddle/automatic cars that you can drive nearer the limit more often.

I like to work a bit.

Perhaps get a nice 80's/90s classic and do it up?

Skoda fun? Skoda rapid? Skoda Estelle?

Was thinking something like an XRi

American classic car? Always wanted to do something like that. Ala Fast'n'Loud

I'm happy with the Skyline, Yetis and Fabia. :)

Completely agree. More fun driving a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

Gt-r's are sooo capable arent they. Even when my mates giving it all he possibly can on a local road that he knows like the back of his hand, its always so apparent that the car has soo much more left. Which you just cant access on the road can you.

Have you used launch control on any of your gtr's mate?

My friends is yet to be launched. Might do it at santapod he's thinkin.

Yes I have.

It's fun for a bit but then you can get to 60mph almost as fast just planting it.

Driving a GT-R real fast on the road isn't really the place because to see what they can really do you need a track.

It's amazing how many people buy them and then don't have the balls to use it for what it was intended.

Personally I can't think of anything more uninvolving than drag racing in a big power auto/flappy paddle car.

No skill involved at all really.

Quick, yes.  But push a few buttons and it's all over.  Track is where you have to drive it.

Sounds like a plan.

Shame there were no Nissans at Brands today.

Should have had Minty on the supercar stand.

Put a pair of Blackvue 400 (v1, old ones) cameras in today.

Have used them in several cars now and a coupe of years on they are going great.

Front one wired into the fusebox as usual.

Rear one wired into the ignition live on the rear wiper motor.

Positive is the black wire and earth is the brown one.

Did a fairly tidy job and finished it off with some snazzy yellow cable ties so it's easy to remove if I need to later on.

On top of the drive recorders I've just filled it up with £50 of Tesco Momentum 99 ready for Skoda Fest tomorrow.

Think I've doubled the value of it. :D

Despite no idea of it's reliability we did 250 miles and used less than half a tank.

Runs like a dream although does rev a bit high, 3,500 at an indicated 72mph with is really 66mph!

It seems to be averaging 50mpg.  Which is rather better than I expected for a 13 year old 100,000 mile petrol car.

That's got a good shine on it!

I did put it through a hand car wash a few weeks back...  must be because it was such a lovely sunny day up there today. :D

I'm not polishing it because it's easier to then wipe bird poo off with a kitchen tissue.

The highlight of doing lifts at 1am on a Friday Night/Saturday Morning in my First Fabia, being 4 Up, doing 70 mph up Bluebell Hill and my mate Alex was sick out of the window covering the rear offside quarter, I didnt have a chance to wash it off till about 2 hours later.

I wasnt all that bothered as it was 12 year old paint covered in swirls and had always been washed with a sponge (if that) so i just threw a bucket of water over it it and that was it lol

So I am reducing my car collection and being sensible.

Then this morning I accidentally logged into Copart and saw this...
