Feeling quite pleased with myself tonight.

 

Thought if I was using the FGF for going to work occasionally it should really have bluetooth.

So I popped down to Halfords and picked up a cheapish head unit that includes bluetooth.

It won the Auto Express products test a week or two ago so can't be too bad.

Bonus is it's got DAB too.

 

So after the children went to bed I headed for the car with an assortment of tools...

An hour and a half later I've ripped out the old ill fitting head unit, fitted this one correctly, flush as it should be.

Also have run the wires to the DAB ariel in the passenger A post and the microphone wire to the driver A post, after a lot of threading wires through the dash so everything is invisible as it should be.

 

So I've now got fully working DAB with a huge assortment of channels (I could only get Radio 2 and Chelmsford Radio before) and a good signal strength, plus handsfree phone and music streaming. :clap:

 

It's even got a USB plug on the front too.

are you going to wire in a dash cam or did you already do that? Is there a Blueteeth dash cam available that could record directly to the USB slot in the new funky HU?

I've already put front and rear Blackvue 400s in.

 

No idea if there is one that can do that, or if the headunit is capable.
