Quite right! I can't remember is it another 1.4 Comfort that is identical?

No it's a 1.4 MPI Classic.

So the base engine and spec.

It's even got wind up front windows!

Less weight. :D

Less weight. :D

Less to have to strip out of the car as well!

Does the WRC kit have a boot and bumper?

Does the WRC kit have a boot and bumper?

No and yes.

It's not got a tailgate but I have a lightweight one I got from the Czech Republic that is off a Fabia Cup car.

I've got a set of Lexan windows too, all round other than the front screen.

Bought those a few years ago, still boxed up.

So really you could repair the Comfort and build up a wrc at the same time without missing anything from the rear end!

Classic, yes.

I've got all the panels in VRS form too.

I could do with a cheap run around now :D

There is a Copart site at Bristol. ;)

That's actually where my first Fantasy Green one came from.

You just have to be registered Josh.

Years membership isn't expensive, form and ID.

Looks like the air-con compressor on the Fabia is goosed, has been since before I got it.

About to fit the one from the Pastywagon and hope it's OK as it's a lot cheaper than buying one...

Laying on the floor they look identical.

I had no air con in the PastyWagon at the end.

The pulley inside the compressor refused to turn when you switched it on so no cold air.

The Gloucester aircon specialist i took it to to regas suggested that it was a broken clutch shaft and said there was no point paying to put more refrigerant in

That explains it then.

It's throwing up some odd fault codes.

But wiring/sensor related.

The aircon unit seems to be powering up and dropping it's clutch.

After some jiggling, repairing of chewed wiring (from salvage auction yard I suspect) and general arsing about we've got only one fault showing instead of four, the evaporator sensor.

I think that's the one in the heater unit under the dash.

Is there an easier way to get to it rather than stripping the whole dash out?

There is a guide on here, you dont need to pull the entire dash, just the lower trim around the underside of the steering wheel.

I think its a bit fiddly but do able. :)

Cheers Taylor, found it with a search.

Fingers crossed! :D

Right...

Changed the evap sensor thingy.

Air-Con works ( ) for two minutes when you switch the car on, then conks out ( ) and shows up an intermittent fault.

Considering putting the air-con pump from the other red Fabia VRS on, just to see what happens.

Could be the Clutch in the A/C Compressor over heating and cutting out? just a stab in the dark

My aircon doesn't work, so will it show up with vag com?

Seems very logical to me!
