  • Perhaps there is a vcds tweak to enable it?

Same here, and I like it the way it is as a quick visual confirmation I remembered to lock it.

Ok, I have just tested all options and can confirm...

With the option to "fold when parked" ticked via infotainment, they fold when you lock the car, and they unfold when you turn the ignition key, not when you unlock the car.

With the option to fold un-ticked, they only fold via the mirror switch but you also need to have the ignition on for the switch to work. The press/hold lock button on the key fob does not fold the mirrors.

Strangely, with the option to "Fold when parked" ticked, the mirrors on my car fold in when you lock the car, but then unfold when you unlock it, not when you turn the key.

It's a bw4 Elegance estate.

Looks like Skoda have caught up with VW - the Golf has been unfolding on unlock for a while now.

There doesn't appear to be any difference in the coding/adaptation - it is a later revision controller seems to be the general train of thought. I haven't seen a 2014 built Elegance yet to see if there are any differences in coding or adaptation.

I had a 60 plate cupra r and that had folding mirrors on the key so did the 57plate fr before that can't believe the vrs as a supposedly we'll specked car hasn't !!

Andy, I'd happily let you have a copy of my BW6 Elegance to check but, I would need to find a more local VCDS owner, any suggestions ?

Folding mirrors is standard on vrs in Norway.

It really miffed me that this was not an option on the vRS, there is no excuse not to have included this...

I don't personally know anybody near to you, but I would need the log of the full scan of the car to get all of the coding, and controller adaptation maps for the door controllers and central electronics (BCM) as a minimum, I might need Infotainment as well.

That should keep someone busy for an hour ......

Here is my coding of O3 BW >45post-110330-0-38446100-1393956695_thumb.pngpost-110330-0-87258100-1393956700_thumb.pngpost-110330-0-26270800-1393956707_thumb.pngpost-110330-0-55189700-1393956713_thumb.pngpost-110330-0-10892200-1393956722_thumb.pngpost-110330-0-37406000-1393956734_thumb.png

How do you get that coding table?

VCP

Sent from my phone so please excuse brevity and spelling

Yes correct. It is a screenshot of VCP-Pro.

The first three is driver door, the second three passenger door. Both startet with row 8. 1-7 is reserved.

triumph61 - doesn't appear to be anything different on the door controllers. Is there anything specific in 09 for unfolding the mirrors on unlock with the remote?

No, i have not see it. The differenz between pre BW45 is, i think, is in the main Firmware of ECU 42/52.

My factory settings are: folded every Time by closing with the key. At the moment they only folded with a longer push on the key (comfort closing). That can be change in the BCM, as you know.

A friend have a pre BW45. In this week he will get a Update of the 5F Columbus, perhaps the dealer updates also the 42/52.

  • 3 years later...

Though it's a bit old post but my query fits in here. hence i am asking if anyone can shade some light here again please.

Mine is 63plates Octavia Elegance (1.6TDi Manual Hatchback) and side Mirrors fold when car is locked with remote but they do not unfold when the car is unlocked with the remote. they only unfold when ignition is on.

Is there anyway i can sync fold and unfold with lock and unlock? did anyone able to do it..if yes please guide me through. thank you in advance.

Thanks for the info..mine is out of warranty..will they bother to update the firmware for free..is there any other way of doing it?

Dealer only as far as I know

Anyone else has any idea? Can it not be done by VCDS? Did anyone do it?

VCDS is a configuration and setup change tool, not a firmware update tool.

Hi, Can anyone help me with my Skoda Octavia.  When locking the car, the mirrors have always closed and when unlocking the car, they have always opened.  When unlocking my car today, the mirrors failed to open.  Does anyone know why this has happened?  The car is not very old at all. I have checked the Infotainment settings and it is set to open and close with locking and unlocking.

Try checking the mirror control stalk on the driver's door.  Besides L & R settings for repositioning the mirrors, there's also a setting to turn on heating in the mirrors (at 2 o'clock) and one to fold them in (at 10 o'clock).  It might be you've accidentally adjusted a mirror and turned to the latter setting.

Is their any option of opening and closing wing mirrors with door locking and unlocking in infoteinment? I haven't got exactly that option in my infoteinment. which variant and year of Octavia you have there?

How much work/cost would it be to add folding mirrors?  Is it even possible?

Just curious after my wing mirror was damaged 2 weeks after buying my car
