  • Check whether you get the retaining screws for the discs. Fair chance one or both of the existing ones will be knackered during removal. New ones from the dealer are torx rather than than crosshead.

  • Thats a horrendous price. But they probably charge a huge price for the parts. Just ring them and ask for the size Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk

  • I can't believe that after 4 weeks and 54 posts you haven't actually bought and fitted the pads.   Get a Move on!

I also need to know this as i noticed my pads are a little on the low side when i washed it at the weekend!  Seems a bit of a minefield when i put my reg in.  I would like some Brembo discs with pagid pads...

Got my pagid pads from car parts4less which is basically the same company and my part numbers are

Front 101441138

Rear. 101441178

That's for a 2008 cr tdi

As above for pads for my 2006 TFSI. Discs for mine were

Front 104441508

Rear 104441518

Thanks guys

BUT

Carparts for less are not on special offer

I got Pagid front and rear discs and pads in the Eurocarparts sale last week, paid £188 with next day delivery, really good price and service!

I used GSF and got front disks/pads for about £60 . Its worth asking if they will beat E C P . we have both on the same road so you can always play the 1 of

with the other ,

I changed my front discs & pads in july last year, got Pagid parts from Ecp,part numbers were pads- 101441138 £11.34p & discs- 104441508 £39.34p + the dreaded Vat.

Pagid pads, best by a mile.

What about the EBC drilled/grooved discs? Anyone using these?

Pagid pads, best by a mile.

Hmmm....for an OE pad they are pretty good, but I do find them to be quite dusty and I can rip through a set of fronts in less than 8k miles (yes I know I could be lighter on the brakes, but I'm not).

Personal preference for an OE spec pad would either be Textar from ECP (if available) or Bosch or Jurid from GSF.

I've got some EBC BSD - high carbon blade discs. Seem good, resistant to heat and don't appear to have any issues relating to warping either. Damn sight better than EBC's pads.

Had a good look on the Euro car Parts site and discovered that there are differences ...only small,  between Pads and Discs...I need Front and rear Discs and Pads

I still have no idea which ones to order...favouring Bosch, but there are a few under my size..Octavia vRS CR 2010

Can anyone help me?

I think the rear discs changed from 282mm to 272mm around 09/10 and the smaller discs used Bosch callipers.

I've checked on elsawin, and it says Bosch calipers were used from build week 45 of 2009. I don't know how Skoda build weeks work though!

I have just replaced the front discs and pads on our second car - the old Mondeo, and I went for Pagid from EuroCarParts. I think the whole lot came to about £60, and the first test seemed really good - very progressive braking, lots of power.

The other good thing about the Pagid discs, is that they no longer put a protective grease on them, but spray a special protective coating, like a matt paint which quickly wears of after a couple of applications of the pedal.

Chris I would ring Skoda and find out the disc size. That would make it easier to decide

I was thinking that. Thanks

Just looked on Carprog2. When was your car built as up to 31/12/2009 is 280mm then after is 288mm disc size. But I would still check with Skoda to make sure lol

It was delivered in mid January 2010...So it could have the smaller size

I'm going to go down to the Dealer on Monday and have a word with the parts Department

I have a quote from Colin as well to consider from his new Parts ordering system.

Once a decision has been made, I need to find a local fitter

My Dealer is charging £199 for supplying and fitting rear discs and pads...and £249 for front discs and pads...

I think that is outrageous TBH...or is that just me?
