I have this issue BUT when I turn the key in the door and hold it the windows work fine ?? Could this still be the motor ?? Mines a 07 ltd ed vrs working fine yesterday and day beore now nothing :-( leccy wing mirrors also don't work :-( sending it to the garage I bought it off Tuesday cos its under warranty just wondering what I could suggest to them to look for :-( I've tried fuses resetting and re seating the fuses nothing :-( dead as a do do :-( and being on average 24 degrees making driving most unpleasant and I don't wanna keep putting air con on :-(

I'm a bit lost with mine to be honest. Just my windows don't work, the drivers side hasn't worked since last November! Reset them and the passenger side works for a very brief period, a few minutes infact. Sure its the controller thingy gone on the drivers side motor but I've been waiting over 7 weeks for a new one. If I took it to my Skoda dealer and they found it was the motor what the hell would they do! 

Polluxtroy69 have you got that secondhand motor? And if you have does it work? I'm still waiting for a new one, after 6 weeks!

Yeah I have got it. It came 2 days later. Fitted and fully working now. £32 well spent. Did you get yours? I'll try and remember what site I got it from. I mailed the guy like 6 times and he never got back to me. 

How have people found buying one since?

So if the motor in the drivers door goes it sends everything abit doo Lally ? ?

I got mine from a company called 'motors in motionLTD' but I got it from a site like ebay that just sold car parts, but I have no idea what it's called. Give the guy an email and see if they have any more, hir email is [email protected]

Contacted them and they haven't got one. But still a handy place to know about as they're only 50 miles away from me.

just bought my Fabia and the windows do not work :( Guess I will try to make my own looms and bypass the originals.

I've bit the bullet and ordered one. None in the uk so hopefully will be 7-10 working days to come from Czech Republic. £148 but I can't take it any longer

Can I just say for reference (from the start of the thread) when inspecting the wires in the rubber door boots, given the correct squeeze or gentle persuasion with a screwdriver, the white plastic clip will come away from the pillar with the rubber boot still sealed over it. This way the whole boot with clip just pops in and out in seconds, no wrestling to get the boot back over the clip

My motor turned up today after only 3 days, fitted and now can get air in the car!!! Not even bothered about the £150 I can't tell you how much pleasure I'm getting from using my windows!!!!!!

Welcome tot he working window club  mine stopped working in December and got my motor last week at £140!!!!

That sounds like its the convenience module not the motor dude

It's above the clutch pedal.

Nah it's the convenience unit. It controls elec windows, central locking, interior lights etc.

Ahhhh interesting shall look into this if the Motor doesn't work :-)

Fixed mine, it was the drivers side switches buggered. New ones £31 from TPS in Exeter. Tested and all is very good now

Ok so both window motors been replaced both switches only the convinience box to look at now but still no working windows :-( likely hood of it being the convinience box ?

Ok sorted now was passenger motor was the wrong coded one :-)

Ok guys and girls its packed in again I have the motors which are posted above SK2 I've told them to try the SK1 what's te chances of this working and which is the newer code ??

Apologies to resurrect an old thread but it has been identified today by skoda that the window motor control unit has gone (for some reason an auto electrician has said it was the body control module!)

Anyway, is the correct part number for a 2005 car 6Y2959802 as I'm going to have a hunt to see if I can pick one up 2nd hand rather than have to lash out £160 at Skoda?
