Ive Been Fitting LEDs!

Featured Replies

Hey guys, my latest little project in my monte was fitting LEDs, they look really good.. I'm changing the switch to a flush latch switch.

When you open the doors at night this is what you see-

I've added these to the boot lid liner-

How the car looked when i was fitting them-

they look pretty good, i know they are a typical teenage thing to do, but i just wanted the experience of doing it and the pleasure.

im not yet finished, I've got a few more single LEDs to go into the roof lining etc.

i also have two little spot lights pointing onto the roof to light up the rear.

They are all simply wired into the sidelights and run off of a switch.

  • Oh dear.

Blinkin heck.

Can you fit any more in? Haha. You have been busy mate.

I do like it, perhaps a little bright for me though hsha

I appreciate what your trying to do, I used to love fiddling and messing around with my cars when I was younger but it's not gonna be everyone's cup of tea.

It's a bit too much Max Power/Demon Tweeks for me, the last time I seen that many red lights was on the side of a canal in Amsterdam.

Each to their own I suppose.

Not sure about all that red but nice idea and good job. I like

Bugger... was going to fit my "skoda" puddle ligjts tomorrow and post pics as I have not seen any fitted. Well you beat me to it and have set it in stone they are getting done asap. Would you mind sending me a pm on how you wired them in. Or bettet still add it to this thread?

I would be interested to know how they are wired in - looks good, although probably a few too many for my liking! I think more light in the boot is a definite bonus :)

A guide to the pudle lights would be good.

Where have you taken the power from for all your lights, and where are you putting the switch?

Do you have a small vehicle fire extinguisher in the car? Might be an idea with all the additional wiring mate

I can appreciate it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I look at is as.. I had all the stickers down the side, to make it mad.. I might aswell make the inside mad too.

The puddle lights were pretty simple, apart from the fact I had to solder them onto the actuall board of the interior light so that they come on when the interior light does, I.e. When the doors are open.

I will post a load of photos of when I fitted them too.

I have taken the power from the sidelights, just branched off of it, so as soon as the sidelights are turned on the lights are powered, but through a switch so they are not on whilst I am driving.

but through a switch so they are not on whilst I am driving.

Good thinkin.

I certainly couldnt drive with that lot on. Massive dazzling distraction haha

Wow - you really have gone to town...... great work mate!

I like it....wanna do mine..... but in blue?    :giggle:

I'd do yours in blue mate :) it's all so simple honestly

Ok Jay fair play to ya, at least you can say that your car is individual good work.

I'd love to put some blue/white strips in my front footwells. I'm not confident enough though!

It's not quite to my taste but I can appreciate the effort that's gone into it and if you like it that's all that matters really. One question tho - do the LEDs only come on if you open the door then turn the sidelights on? I think i'd want them to come on automatically when I unlocked the car.

Oh dear.

Wot, no furry dice?

Mine are wired to the interior light so come on when car unlocked, I have white in Footwell and on underside of door as a puddle light and also red strip on outer edge of door trim as a marker when door opens in dark. I don't have as many as Jay though.

Jay, your puddle lights are smart, where are they fitted? Looks like you are having a good time and making your car individual, fair play to you. Just keep the quality up and like I said earlier, get a fire extinguisher.
