Perishing window rubber

Featured Replies

Has anybody else had this on their new Octavia yet? On my rear most windows (that you only get on the estate) both driver side and passenger side, the window rubber appears to have started perishing. It doesn't seem to be anything stuck to the rubber, rather the surface has started to disappear.

I've got it booked into the dealer this afternoon, but they want their valeters to make sure it isn't anything stuck to the rubber first.

I'd say it's some sort of protective wax from the factory, mine was covered in it.  Not sure the point in having there dodgy "valeters" looking at it though.

Yes, my bad. It's come off with some tar remover and a bit of elbow grease now!
