 About to replace the DPF pressure sensor (03G906051A) due to the following error codes and a "Diesel particulate filter" warning light:-

Exhaust Pressure Sensor 1 (G450)
               P0471 - 000 - Implausible Signal - MIL ON

 It is the "made in US" versions which many people keep mentioning are faulty, so assume we have been lucky that it lasted this long. One thing that keeps cropping up is the requirement for a new one to be "coded". Could anyone explain what this is and what is involved.

Keith,  I think I have the same model as you i.e. an 08 plate 1.4tdi greenline.  I bought the pressure sensor from my local dealer and it was about £50 incl postage.  Simple to fit when you know how (about 15 mins) - took me a few minutes to find it but it is on the top of the engine so access is good. They do not need calibrating as I confirmed this with my local service dept prior to fitting it.  Once fitted I started the engine and within 30 seconds the warning lights had gone out.

Keith, i've only just noticed your post which snacr63 has in effect resurrected. By now I hope you have the issue solved. The the new pressure sensor does need to be adapted/calibrated to the ecu BEFORE you run the engine. If not, it will use the default ecu captivated value stored in memory for the amount of soot in the dpf. If you have a high amount of soot stored in the dpf and it's above I think 50% then the car will not regenerate and you are in trouble. I've only ever done this once on a dpf equiped car some time ago so can't remember all the details but it isn't hard from what I remember. Of course if like snacre63 you just fit and drive, then you may be lucky but it's not really the way to do it and it may shorten the life of the dpf.

The sensor does need calibrating. Skoda assist fitted one to my late fathers greenline and less than 200 miles later the DPF light came on because the sensor believed the DPF to require regen when in reality the DPF was fine. Result was the car was almost constantly attempting a regen, but the ECU could see no changes in the values from the sensor.

 

I had to perform the sensor calibration and do a forced regen using VCDS, and then drove around a local industrial estate with VCDS plugged in looking at the measuring blocks until I was happy and the values stabilised.

 

All because the RAC failed to run the correct adaption process. You may get lucky, but the correct process is to adapt the sensor, it takes less than 5 mins with VCDS. Much easier than spending half a morning driving round at high RPM to keep the exhaust temps up during a forced regen.

hello i am having issues p2456 error code dpf differential pressure sensor, problem is i can't find sensor location can someone tell me where is located thanks 

it's 2011 fabia 1.2 tdi greenline engine light on very poor fuel consumption due to dpf differential pressure sensor fault can't find sensor location 

There will be two narrow tubes running to the exhaust, one just before the DPF and one just after it, these tubes will be attached to the sensor itself which is usually on a bracket nearby, it will be hard to see and may be hidden by heatshielding but it's down the back of the engine there somewhere.

its on the fire wall opposite side egr valve hold 10mm bolt
