More progress this week, managed to get a few bits cleaned, treated, primed and seam sealed. Gearbox mount finally taking shape meaning the axle stand has now been removed. More work on the transmission tunnel in progress, made a few more panels soon to be welded and welded in the harness mount plates. Managed to remove alot of unnecessary metal from the rear on the cabin, old seatbelt mounts etc, new seat mounts once the cds tube turns up. Oh and another picture of the manifold....

Looking good :)

Is the output shaft from the gearbox unusually high on the RX8 box?

Thinking back to old RWD Fords I've owned and the output shafts are usually quite near the bottom.

Yep it certainly is difference between a axle and a independent rear end also runs a carbon fibre prop but not sure that will survive the power hike

First revision of the manifold didn't fit as it fouled the cam shaft pully. Plus I thought it look gash, second revision fits and will look so much better when finish. Had a day on it yesterday in the cold but made good progress and now started the new bulk head pictures too follow

Mocking up the rear end was a PITA on my own but kinda get the idea of where and how things need to be mounted. Poke should be about 30mm when its all fitted properly. Wheels are BMW fitment Azev A's fronts are 7.5J but the rears are 9J so plenty of rubber for getting the power down

manifold all tacked up bar the waste gate which i will sort this week. Primary's measure around 5-7% of each other which is way under the 20% requirement so i'm happy. Just needs each primary removing, polishing then full welded and back gased then welding back on the head flange and collector.
