Anybody ordered a L&K yet?

Featured Replies

OMG, 3 of them!

Wheels look swish.

Assume it's cappuccino as a rear/side hatch shot, red hatch, silver estate.

I think the black detailing works really well with the red actually.

Interestingly, the estate is spec'ed with standard roof bars and has full window chrome detail, seems to balance well with the black of wheels & tires, while the hatches actually get upper window surround in black and only the lower edge with chrome.

Probably up to you really, but i think they all seem worthwhile. I wouldnt bother spending the extra on Colombus, but obviously a lot would.

How often are the rear seats occupied? Heated front seats are standard so only you can say whether it's worth the extra for rear seats...

Likewise, driver's seat is electric adjust as standard so whether it's worth getting front passenger seat electrified (oh, if only...!!!) is again down to how often someone occupies it....

Even real wood looks naff but brown plastic....... I'd pay them not to put it on the car....

You can't spec Mitsumi and Columbus. The Columbus doesn't require Mitsumi.

Bloody nuisance.  Laurel and Hardy Octavia can only have brown.  L&K Superb, choice of Brown or Ivory.  Guess which looks more upmarket?  (Clue, not the brown)

The Laurel and Hardy doesn't have the option for steering wheel with DSG paddles?!?

Yes it does. I've ordered one and the factory have accepted the order.

The brochure is out of date already, go on to the online configurator, it is £100 as an option.

Didn't think it made sense.  The L&K seems to be the best option for leasing - by the time you add a couple of extras to the Elegance the L&K works out cheaper.

Pity I'm not due a new company car till next March or so :'(

Exactly, the residual is higher as all the gizmos are standard?

Yeah, I wasn't seeing added benefit of KESSY which I think you selected.

I did - I went with the sports suspension as well to get XDS and a Columbus

That's the thing, seen the brochure pics in the brown with, err, brown interior and it sort of looks ok ish so it got me wondering.

The draw for me was also the 1.8tsi motor which is pretty good, any idea of real world economy figures from that unit?

It so happens that I went for a test drive this Monday in a L&K 1.8 TSi DSG hatch. This was a brand new car without any miles and just out of the garage having its PDC.

I took the car out for nearly an hour on all types of roads with a number of spirited sprints and changing over to semi manual to see how it reacted at higher revs in lower gears. I was very impressed with this 7 speed DSG box which gave a very smooth and quiet ride apart from tyres but that may have been the roads as they were almost like pebbledash on a house.

I was particularly pleased to see that the maxidot showed an average MPG of just over 36 which I think is very good for an absolutely brand new car.

36mpg is pretty damn good on a brand new motor! Hoping to get a test drive sorted soon. I've driven the Leon 1.8TSi in the new Leon FR and was very impressed with it; smooth, flexible and very refined. :)

Since my last post I have at last been able to see a topaz brown elegance car, grey is cancelled, brown now ordered and car build date is wk 40/end Sept.

Not too long to wait then.
