On the verge of, getting offered just over £2k discount

Sounds reasonable?

On the verge of, getting offered just over £2k discount

......and free smoking jacket?  :D

Complete with pipe, slippers and a Parker Knoll recliner.

Then again, I'm opting for sports suspension with XDS, and an estate again.

Should be ordering this week, just got a few 'negotiations' with SUK to get out of the way.

Are they on the 0% finance?

Nope, same as the elegance, 2.9% and free servicing.

It's hard work keeping up with all the discounts and offers.

Should be nice - and hopefully without the electrical gremlins of your current ride.

Yes, ordered a 1.8Tsi estate in last week of May...with Bluetooth+, Columbus, Rear Airbags/Crew Protection, Winter Pack, Sports Suspension and Space Saver.

SUK hadn't loaded the finance details onto their systems at time of order. By the time they had, in June, the 0% had disappeared. As the order had been placed early my dealer got SUK to agree to honour the 0%. I would have cancelled if they hadn't agreed anyway!

Being built this week...hopefully! Not collecting 'til Sept though so I can have a 64 plate.

I'd just love that 1.8 TSI but, I'm not willing to look like I'm sitting in **** for it though.

LOL - it's not quite that bad, as long as it is the same as the Superb!

Exactly my thoughts. Wasn't too sure but looked at a Superb and it's much darker than it appears in any of the brochures...

I've not seen any decent images of the interior of either and the dealer had none in to show me what to expect, I was really tempted by the spec but without seeing a real one I had to say no because the brochure image is dire. Have you seen any 3rd party images that give a better idea of how it actually looks as the brochure makes them look like well, we all know what it makes them look like.

To my eyes in the Superb it looks really dark, from the outside looking in almost black... As with everything it's subjective, some will like, some won't. No different than choosing the external colour of your car...although I accept that Skoda might have given people the option of something else if they didn't like the brown!

That's the thing, seen the brochure pics in the brown with, err, brown interior and it sort of looks ok ish so it got me wondering.

The draw for me was also the 1.8tsi motor which is pretty good, any idea of real world economy figures from that unit?

I'm only getting 33mpg from my 1.4TSi for commuting - down to the nature of the journey, only 8 miles in total, short bits of dual carriageway and then a few minutes of gridlock. Much better when I go longer distances - maybe mid 40's.

I'm hoping the 1.8 won't be too much different but we'll see! Looking forward to VRS TDi performance but with all the luxuries...

My first 4.700km in the 1.8 tsi 4x4 dsg average was 38mpg

Mine has avg 47mpg/33mph, first 5000km, still comes down. (fwd, dsg, 18'' wheel, sport suspension)

Not sure where you are getting your car from but I'm also on the verge of ordering an L&K diesel estate, and I've been quoted discounts between 3k & 5k......

Gents before the gloves come off, finance %, deposits, trade-in values all have to be taken into account when looking at a new car deal, I've learned straight money off the list price isn't all that makes a deal appealling and personal finances can't be assessed the same way for all buyers.

Yep, APR is high on that site and doesn't appear to be the Skoda finance so the free servicing will be gone as well.

It's a healthy discount they are offering though! - especially as a fully loaded (every option chosen) 2.0TDi DSG Estate has about £4700 margin in it (including VAT) if the dealers margin is 14%.

Not contacted them about finance options yet, but these sites usually just pass your details direct to Skoda partner. Was being quoted 3.1k discount from Carwow, the quotes come direct from Skoda dealers so include all Skoda finance offers.

It's just a heads up to shop around. Use the info to barter with your local dealer.

Which dealer was offering you 3.1k and the Skoda finance? The best offer I got off of carwow was 2.1k on the Skoda finance, did get offered more if not taking the finance.

My local dealer isn't interested - they just say they won't match the deal!!
