Awwww lovely, imagining chrome roof bars on my estate, end Oct not far off now as confirmed in the week, wk40 is still build week.

Car looks great but, I'm not sure I'd buy a car off any of that motley looking crew maybe, the second one from the left but, I'd be counting my fingers having shaken hands on the deal. LOL

Looks like we might have secured a stock car with Skoda today, been a real pain tying the lease company to a stock car with Skoda UK.  

 

Skoda Octavia Estate, 2.0tdi, 4x4, L&K, Cappuccino Beige exterior and the inevitable brown interior.  asked for roof rails to be swopped for silver ones

 

how have people found the brown alcantara material for showing marks?  worth getting interior scotch guard type protection done?? 

Dealer update on Friday says build week has slipped a week to Wk41  :no:

Mine is currently BW46, but no doubt that will change as it is some way off

Extremely happy with the VRS, but if a derv powerplant came up with more horses within the time I'm due to "renew" or "keep" I'd be tempted, at least a little bit!

I ordered my L&K Estate just about 4 weeks after you on 6th August so what's your best guess as to when it might be built and/or delivered ?

I don't know whether any of my extras make any difference but I have added Columbus, KESSY and rear view camera.

It looks like mine is going to be about 18 or 19 weeks from order to delivery, so work on something about the same - 16-18 weeks.

 

The only fly in the ointment is BW45 when some minor tweaks get made to spec at the half model year - it looked like mine was going to be built after this, but now is before.

 

I'm trying to find out what the changes are, but probably won't know until after mine is built! I'll be annoyed if 4x4 becomes available with DSG, or MirrorLink, Leather, TV tuner.

Correct, I have not yet been given a build date but at 7 weeks since order I was not expecting anything yet given that the estimate at order was 12-14 weeks. The only problem with the delays is that I sold my Superb early as we are away for several weeks. My wife has a Juke so we'll have to share a bit longer !!!

I have been confused with these BW numbers so what date is BW45 and when the factory closed in early August can I assume that they missed out the numbers then ?

My spec is the O3 L&K estate with DSG and the 1.8 TSi 7 speed gearbox. The only extras I thought I would go with are Columbus & KESSY which I had on my Superb plus the latest edition of a rear view camera. One last thing is that I have chosen Moon White.

I have just done a search of used cars on the SKODA website and see that there is a L&K estate in my colour although a diesel and manual box. I must say that I am pretty impressed with the look of the car with the turbine wheels.

This week is BW39, it is just the 39th week of the year.

All the things I am speculating about are just that, speculation. It only tends to be very minor changes at the half model year. I would expect you get allocated a build week in a couple of weeks at the most.

What is it with the Brown interior and seats?  I've had two L&K Mk2 and under no circumstances would I have brown upholstery.  What with that and the lack of a foot rest for the right foot to use when in cruise control, I cannot find an acceptable replacement car!  It looks like I'm going to have to run my current '59 plate into the ground and hope that Skoda see sense before it finally dies.

I really like the idea of the l&k however the more i look at them the more i think they are just far too expensive for a skoda octavia.

Spec an Elegance or a vRS to as close to the L&K spec as you can get and there isn't much difference in price. You can't get ACC or FA on any model other than the L&K at the moment though.

 

Plenty of Elegance and vRS owners have bought cars with list prices around the L&K list price by the time they have added a few options.

 

The L&K has a higher residual than a specced up Elegance though

I do like the L&K and all those toys as standard are v nice and all that but given the Mk3 wiped the floor with the Mk2 for standard spec most people wouldn't feel short changed with a standard spec SE or Elegance....I certainly didn't and came from a relatively well spec'd Mk2 (Blackline).

I think most of the models still make sense at their list prices (like 24k is not really unreasonable for a vRS TDI hatch given its still a good 2.5k cheaper than a GTD.....Perhaps not quite so "cool" but undoubtedly a better family car and nearly as capable). I just think it dilutes the value for money Skoda is still supposed to represent (just about) when you throw the option list at them.

I wouldn't have paid more than 23k for my 2.0 Elegance estate and was only really the 0% deal that swung it for me. Certainly used values for the Mk3 aren't particularly great (as lots are being bought and sold into the used programme 6 - 9 months on by the hire companies).....unless I was buying one to keep for a long time I wouldn't want to do my nuts on a £27k L&K that's going to be worth little more than a standard Elegance in the trade in 3 years time which isn't going to be worth much anyway.

To put it in perspective I sold my Blackline at 1 year old and pulled out more equity than I put in; was a good bet and in that respect kind of wished I kept it....as at 2 years old 21k miles (which is where I'd be now) it'd only be worth about 1400 quid less than my 9 month old Elegance that cost 3k more.

I'm now about 3k in neg equity with the Elegance and couldn't justify selling it on, just glad it's a good car and not overly fussed about moving it on anyway at this point.
