It'll hit 99.9 by next Friday then watch the **** hit the fan

Its taking the **** now. A friend of a friend says that out of every litre of fuel. 3p goes to the garage and 4p to the refinary.

I am sure that round here they would charge more than 99.9P but a lot of the roadside signs cannot display more than that.

Paid 89.9 this morning for 95 ron U/L.

I was in in the lakes last week and found petrol in Ulverston at 88.9p

Back down south its 91p+

Not all the NW Col - I paid 91.6p this morning.

They reckon the recent Hurricane will add 10 pence

96.9p for diesel this week in sunny North Hampshire, up from 95.9p last week. With any luck my mileage will be halving from next Friday so I can start spending money on other things

Chris

I am spending

it's been around 99.9p for a while where I live already

They reckon the recent Hurricane will add 10 pence

True.I think it was pointed out that they can predict and provide for the price of oranges but not petrol.

Always any old excuse excuse as you say.Robbing bar stewards

The recent hurricane shut down oil production in the Gulf of Mexico for 3 days. According to news reports at least 20 rigs have either been wiped out or been severely damaged.

less oil produced= high prices

Another protest is required. I am proud to say that I took part in the last one in my 44 ton truck  .

Because the americans are buying all of Europe's spare petrol

Radio 4 was commenting on the number of diesle cars being sold this year and some "expert" was commenting that diesel was the fuel of the future.

If that is the case and adding the "global" shortage of crude oil I hope that the fuel companies will put some more effort into producing biodiesel.

Its taking the **** now. A friend of a friend says that out of every litre of fuel. 3p goes to the garage and 4p to the refinary.

I don't think even that much goes to the garage to be honest.

I worked in an Esso for 7years and I seem to remember the owner telling me it was just over a penny per litre at the time (fuel was about 69p at the time).

It is rediculous- the goverment should put a cap on the tax so that the real cost (fuel + tax) doesn't go above 90ppl or something.

Remember, for every penny added on the the cost of raw fuel, the goverment add another 3p in tax!

Strangely enough, diesel here has been cut form 94.9 to 92.9 in the last few days.

Personally I don't think whatever we do is going to help. Oil required everywhere and demand is up so prices are rising. Another protest won't really help, IMHO, it's almost cost price, and you cut tax they will claim it back off motorists in another way anyway to make the books balance.

Personally, we need alternative fuels quickly and sustainable transport solutions. Road traffic is still increasing outside the CC zone in London and that can't go on.

Fuel prices do seem to go up and down.

I always believed that diesel went up in the winter because it's on the same base as heating oil.

Although what's wrong with biodiesel. If only I had the facilities to accomodate my own big tank, I'd go for that. Some really high performance / high cetane biodiesel is available for about 85ppl I think. Also, a nice chippy smell out the back. Hey shifty, got any chippy oil going spare?:)

dont buy the lack of supply thing people.

there IS adequate supply.

In the UK, blame the government for stupid levels of tax. The worst thing is its pretty irreversible unless they can think of another way to rasie their revenues (read tax in other areas)

There is no excuse on this earth for diesel costing more than petrol. Is there?

We've had fuel hikes too in the United Arab Emirates...used to AED4.75 per gallon..now it's AED6.25 per gallon...30% increase...

And here, diesel has always cost more than petrol...diesel used to be AED6.50, now it's about AED8.00 per gallon.

There is no excuse on this earth for diesel costing more than petrol. Is there?

Of course there is...no everyone is buying more turbo diesels and less petrol cars...demand goes up, prices go up.

So stick to petrol

Because the americans are buying all of Europe's spare petrol

we have spare petrol! right now this totaly sucks!

america has it own oil resources and refinery we are depended on bringing oil in from middle east or the usa and refinning here... and they buy it back off us as petrol! bloody check! keep in country and keep our prices lower...

Increasing petrol prices will lead to more and more forecourt crime (drive offs) in turn looseing the petrol companies more money in the long run..

do we thikn blair and his two jags crew will interveen? not bloody likely!!

Yep there is 2p more duty on diesel so that should be the gap......I always thought the duty on fuel was set i.e. 58p on petrol and 60p on diesel per litre not a % so if it goes up its not the tax that is doing it
