I agree totally :)

They're paying my 2 months arrears and giving me £150 cash plus SUK are fitting a set of Eibachs on it for free which equates to more than the price of a free service they initially offered.

When they clear the arrears, check your credit files with Experian, Equifax and call credit to make sure that no late payment markers have been recorded on your file as it will affect your ability to get credit for the next 6 years if they have. VWFS should remove the markers, so make sure they do.

Hope it is second time lucky for you and your Rapid. Looks like a very nice car just a shame you didn't get much chance to enjoy it first time.

^^^^And me too, enjoy again or at least enjoy the second time.

Thanks gents always for your help. I always appreciate you people. Hopefully I will own it again longer than 4 months this time.

Should look nice with Eibachs fitted [emoji4]

Haha yes my little Citigo does get put through its paces whereas the Rapid doesn't take no effort for fun [emoji106] and its minus a whole lot of boot rattles.

What??? :o

A Rapid with less rattles than another car???

Maybe we should all use the dealer reassembly service.

LOL - agreed, sounds like mine could do with the interior teardown and reassembly Stormchaser's one has had. Mine rattles like a maraca and not just the well-documented upper B pillars where the seat belts emerge.

Oh [emoji15]

Mines very quiet but after driving a Citigo anything is [emoji6]

Remind me to take you for a spin in my Roomster if we are ever at the same meet-up,50 mph and it sounds like you are sat in the air intake of a Boeing 747 throttling up for take off...lol :peek: :x

I'll make note of that when I see it at the end of the week.

Yes but it is very young and hardly been used [emoji6]

I'm not really giving in as such. I'm sick to death of this after 3 months going round and round in circles. VWFS assured me I will never go through this again "if" it gives me any trouble. I only had 4 months out of its 7 months life. I'm holding them to there word by taking it back. They're paying my 2 months arrears and giving me £150 cash plus SUK are fitting a set of Eibachs on it for free which equates to more than the price of a free service they initially offered. I truly miss this car so I'm giving it a try but I did state if I get a single problem then I'm holding them to there word of an instant resolution which they agreed to.

I'm also getting a full valet and all my fuel replaced. The car is well put back together and there are no rattles/damage anywhere.

In there written statement to me they stated they are not accepting my rejection on the grounds of its "fixed" now [emoji6]

Let's face it the car is on PCP and I won't be owning too long anyway.

They haven't won this and I haven't lost. The ball is in my court now and they all know it. They're desperate to satisfy my requirements [emoji4]

Also a lowered Rapid Sport in Race Blue. Beautiful [emoji106]

Have you got this in writing ? Otherwise they can & looking at what is going on, will deny the conversation took place.

Have i got this right ?

1 - Cannot fix the car within a reasonable number of attempts, & within a reasonable time.

2 - You reject the car & they take it back ( technically accepting it is faulty).

3 - Then make every effort & resolve the issue ( because they are going to loose out)

4 - Then ask you to take the car back,  despite point 1 & 2 above.

The decision to take the car back is yours & yours alone, I hope you do not have any more issues.

Personally i would not have taken it back, as i had what turned out to be a minor mechanical issue in a previous car, which was fixed quickly, but I lost all faith & trust, & got rid as soon as I could.

I understand your points and appreciate this.

I'm to discuss this tommorow with VWFS when I call them to finalise this whole nightmare. I shall be asking for all this in writing of course along with this not going down on my credit history as well. If this can't be settled then of course I'll pursue the normal route again even though the dealer has now fitted the Eibachs and is in the process of a full valet.

I'll post the answers after. It's quite lucky that the guy in dealing with my case is the Customer Satisfaction manager.

I've just talked to the guy who's in charge of my case and has stated the following which I will get in writing:

£150 credited to my bank account

The 2 months arrears written off and will not affect my credit history at all. He will make sure of that.

SUK fitting Eibachs which the dealer has already done.

The car is being valeted at present. Will pick it up tommorow/Friday?

I think this is the best result all round. It's obvious you like the car and I dont think you'd be truly happy with another.

I'd make sure you get the letter PRIOR to collecting, and check it thoroughly before you confirm acceptance of it.

You certainly have more patience than most of us on here, and I commend you for persevering with the process and sticking to your principals. Well done.

A big thing with insurance now is mods inform your insurance of your eibachs

Enjoy your car try and treat it as a new and you are only now picking her up

Thanks gents.

I've tried to be patient but was gradually wearing thin recently.

I'll shall be notifying the insurance when I get it of its modification. It's only costing £38 more than my Citigo. [emoji15]

I going to try again once more to accept it as the same day I picked it up on 1st September [emoji4]
