My Race Blue Rapid Sport/Now Rejected.

Featured Replies

That's very true. Mine is levelling out at about 46.5 mpg - a broad mix of motorway, country roads and London suburb driving - quite happy with that. Mpg definitely got better after I had it serviced last month.

Good news[emoji106]

I'm sure they are good on fuel as that 1.2tsi gets nothing but praise. Just hard to tell on mine in its short life.

I know we've done this elsewhere in another thread, but if you keep it, the unusual green it is certainly going to to be worth less as a trade-in than the blue.

That's very true.Race Blue is a very nice colour compared to **** Green [emoji6]

I've had the loan car for 3 weeks and it's just a lovely drive compared to mine and a spot on fuel gauge lol.

Glad to hear you getting on with the Spaceback; ours has done close to 1k in a week, due to running round dealing with a family bereavement and its just such a great car to drive and not hard on fuel if you refrain from the lead foot.

Thanks TP. The colour is growing on me. It is Skodas heritage colour after all. I'm going to be seeing the dealer on Monday about a replacement car for mine. I'll be gunning for this Spaceback [emoji106]

Only thing I don't like is the variable boot floor and the plastic boot liner on top of it. If I get this car I will get rid of this to anyone who wants it [emoji15]

I can chop down the other rubber one from mine.

If you do keep the Spaceback, can I take your variable boot floor/liner off your hands in that case please :)

Sure we can work out a deal for it.

Yeah sure. [emoji106]

It's a lovely bit of kit but just not for me.

Just need to convince the dealer to give me the car now as a replacement considering there asking price [emoji6]

I'll let you know Chris.

Well after a much stressed ass whooping to all 3 parties involved in this rejection I'm left with 4 options:

1 wait for car to be repaired and accept it back = NO

2 Take another brand new Sport made from the Factory and carry on = ???

3 Pay all the negative equity in the Sport and walk away = NO

4 Take another vehicle of choice = ???

Hmm 2 decisions [emoji57]

Can't just reject and forget [emoji19]

thought you could keep the loaner ?

First question - why can't you just reject and forget? Surely even in the case of a manufacturer financed car, if it's a lemon and you've given them ample opportunity to fix, then you should be able to step away clean.

If that really is not an option, then I'd say the logical approach is either accept a new Sport from the factory on the basis that the existing finance agreement remains in place (e.g. - money paid so far comes off the new car, no additional punative terms), or keep the Spaceback - you like it, it works, its the better car (OK, that last one is just my opinion).

Waiting for another factory Sport is going to take ages - the Spaceback let's you draw a line under the whole situation right now and get on with your life.

If those were my options I'd get an Octy, no questions asked. I've been a bit gutted to find I could get a 6 month old Octy VRs TFSI manual for around 19k when I bought mine for just under 15 new, now have to wait 2 and a half years to get what I could have had if I had waited. Oh well. Still love my Sport.

Don't know about better car Chris, it's just a pretend Estate smaller than the liftback. But that's my opinion. :)

How about a new Fabia? But that's a gamble with how new it is I guess.

I can as a choice BUT that has to start as another car purchase and not a replacement. SUK said they will discount me on it but seeing the Spaceback is worth a lot more than the Sport as its packed with every extra it means there will be adjustments to the agreement. I can't just walk away from it. They want me to pay all the negative equity in the car which I don't know how much that is. Wait for another Sport to be made and be a 15 reg and just carry on from where it left off. I doubt I will do this as I don't want to risk another one and I was told by the dealer that they don't hold there money but a Spaceback will and you wouldn't lose out with one at the end. They're bending over backwards today to get me something but are under VWFS 4 options.

I'll see what he says tommorow as he was calling them late pm today to strike a deal with them and see if my 0% deal can be transferred across.

Stand your ground.

They've accepted the rejection in making you the offers - so admission is no longer an issue.

You've been inconvenienced by this fiasco, and while you shouldn't necessarily come out of this in profit, you certainly shouldn't suffer any form of loss, be it in hard currency or equity.

Perseverance generally pays dividends, and at least you're still mobile in Orville in the meantime

Thanks. I will be standing my ground for sure as I've had enough of this. It's been me chasing them all the time for the past 5 weeks. Hopefully tommorow (Tuesday ) I will get all the right answers [emoji6]

No answers today. It's a battle between VWFS and Skoda UK to settle this process which might take a little time to come to a reasonable conclusion for me. It's out of the dealers hands at the moment until they get instructed on what to do. I did re chase VWFS about this whole thing today saying I want closure on it after all this time with me being a winner.

It's been going on since December 15th 2014 [emoji6]

Car rejection is very stressful [emoji19]

Hang in there buddy - the finish line is getting closer.

It is but all depends on who is the winner [emoji6]

I know this has been tossed about between SUK and the dealer and now you say VWFS. At the end of the day if it went all legal (small claims court) surely it's up to the supplier (dealer/retailer) to give a refund and sort this sorry mess out with the car, but I bet you've had all this advice and it's going round and round.

Briefly I had a similar situation with faulty funiture, in the end it was decided (because it was a battle, supplier v shop who's at fault) the shop was wholly responsible to give me a refund or a replacement, sale of goods act came into play.

Whether there is differing circumstances with vehicles, being registered to a person and all that I don't know.

Ignore if you want, I bet you had enough of it all, I'll shut up

Thanks Mick.

Ive given them in writing all the sale of goods act blah blah blah. I'm just sick to death of keep chasing them up and getting the usual "I'm waiting to hear back from so and so" [emoji35]

It is going round and round and I'm desperately trying to jump in and stop it. The dealer doesn't want to lose out but sorry that's just not my problem and they'll have to argue it out with VWFS.

One positive mention was that I'm going to be compensated for the 39 days and counting that the car has been at the dealers [emoji106]

To be continued..........

If you want a spaceback I've seen some good deals . Insist your dealer matches these and you may end up paying less than you are now.

Funnily enough I can't find any deals on the normal rapid. Maybe skoda are gonna discontinue them?

What a sorry tale - I hope you get what you want deserve out of this situation that you find yourself in.

pre reg tsi, tdi, se connect all for under 12k - i'd say there are loads of deals if you look.

a few more deals on spacebacks sure, but that probably means they're harder to sell. but then they are a bit odd looking.

Well I've decided to totally walk away from all this and forget about the Sport and the Green Rapid. Apparently they couldn't do me a deal anyway as its a high specced car.

So the 3 way argument is on between the dealers,VWFS and SUK to who's going to pay the £3500 negative equity as I've bluntly told them I'm not paying a penny more. The guy at VWFS is just going round in circles he's useless.

Anyway I've still got the Citigo so I'm not bothered.

So the story continues for now.
