  • Ok so here it is, side by side comparison of M-Perf and Stock M135i exhausts. A mate of mine owns the white car, the grey one is mine. :-)

Thanks Tom, I just realised I referred to this thread a 'our' thread, that was a typos, I missed the 'y' off. Sorry.

I'm going to chuck a few buckets of water over it and possibly a light hosing. Can't imagine that the dust will be a match for the Modesta :D It better not be :o

Nah itll probably hose off really easily

Its more the under side of the car that suffers aha. Unless youre driving in it every day though, i wouldnt worry.

i would wrap that up in cotton wool :)

hope you don't mind me posting all this guff in our thread Tom, but I got my car back from the detailers and the result is superb. Super shiny :) and ultra reflective. The coating has teeny flecks of green and blue in it, which seem to enhance the base colour of the car. Sadly by the time I got to take any pics the sun was going down ( the 'golden hour' didn't help show the super reflective properties off so well) and today when I got up, the neighbour had the builders in and they were using cutting disc things. End result, my car looks like it's been to the beach :( worse still, the recommendation for washing the car is to not touch it for a while to make sure the coating is super cured and hard :( :(  Anyhoo here's some pics that might show the coatings (I had the callipers and wheels done too :) )

Amanda,

Lovely looking finish , and no doubt longevity .

I'm interesting to note, if this treatment is recommended by BMW for their paint?

No don't be sorry, more than happy to be sharing this thread with you! No point having two M135i threads :-)

I would imagine BMW only recommend the paint protection products which they themselves sell.... Same as any manufacturer. This will be far better for the car than the carp shoddy 5min job at extortionate cost that the stealers flog.....

Thanks Tom,but that didn't answer my question. Perhaps Amanda will know. Fully understand your comments though.

The only trouble with things like the Modesta treatment, is that it has to be machined off if you need a respray. I had asked to have it done before delivery, but the dealership want too keen on the Detailer doing it on their premise, otherwise they were fine with it. After all, were would you stop? Wrong tyre, wrong polish, wrong leather cleaner etc.

Btw Keith, if you fancy a spot of the Modesta treatment, the Detailers are hard to find, as Modesta seems to operate a fairly closed shop on their product. Lapiz Blue comes out a treat with the BC04

got to say im not a BMW fan but i have to say this is a very very nice looking motor, and it is an M so even better nice one mate enjoy

Them blue callipers tho :D mmmmm ! PZHr4Vx.jpg

Not sure that would be a worthwhile thing to do. I like my M135 sound, so it' would be a waste of time for me. Would you programme your Golf to sound like a VR6 if it was easy Keith?

Well. IL4's dont have much of an interesting sound do they. (Yeah ive sampled the R, along with other IL4 cars and motorbikes)

And VR6's sound good!

I quite like the VR5 too :)

That's a No then.

I'm happy with playing tunes, when the mood takes.

Eco - leisurely and chilled(but still plenty of go). to Race when desired. ( living with the variations is fine by me) Individual or Normal is a happy medium also.

It's good to be flexible.

Depends what you want from the car i guess.

Uncle has his in race all the time, its not loud as such is it, but you can hear it atleast.

Had a chance to get the M135i on the Rollers at the weekend with a few mates at a rolling road session we organised.

My car returned a healthy 325bhp. Bit gutted my mates M135i was 341bhp tho lol!

First vid is abit of fun, second one shows each car doing a power run and I've popped the bhp figures on there for you.
