As requested, a video of the M135i with some noise included...

My rather poor attempt at a "hot" lap. Looks terrible and very slow indeed watching it back lol!

  • Right, this is getting ridiculous now.   I really do feel sorry for Tom, as his thread is being constantly spoilt by off topic arguments.   Can the people involved please no longer post if it is d

  • Ok so here it is, side by side comparison of M-Perf and Stock M135i exhausts. A mate of mine owns the white car, the grey one is mine. :-)

hope you don't mind me posting all this guff in our thread Tom, but I got my car back from the detailers and the result is superb. Super shiny and ultra reflective. The coating has teeny flecks of gr

I likeee :)

I also discovered today - thanks to a bit of a large underpass - that I now have overrun popples in 5th gear! Its win win so far :)

At least it sounds good Tom!  ;)

More track action and M135i noise lol.

This vid has picked up abit of M-perf zorst noise and pops Amanda :-)

Turn it up loud....

Oh yes, very much popples n' gurgles n' such like :) :) It sounds so much for angry and aggressive at the back of the car where it can pick the exhaust better. It's hard to tell if you were going the same speed as before, but the impression with the more noticeable exhaust is that you are going faster. I'd love to hear a recording where the recording level was set to manual and reduced to give plenty of head room for the pops and bangs. It's a bit like fireworks on tv often make deep low frequency clicks instead of nice big bangs :(

I lurve my new zorst :)

Prices seem to be coming down to sensible money now on these. Been to a few dealers (none of which have spoken to me!) But I love the look of them. Motorpoint have a 2014 5dr for £22k..

Are there any 'must have' options? Also real world mpg? I do mainly A roads with about 5 miles of back roads every day for work.

MPG depends a lot on how hard you drive it but I suspect with that use it would be around 30mpg or so. Mine is currently averaging around 27mpg but I do a fair bit or stop-start town use. Low 40s mpg at a restrained motorway cruise is perfectly doable.

I'd say the black panel display is a very cheap must have option to make the dash look a lot better. Most people say a speaker upgrade is essential as the standard ones are naff. The drive comfort pack is useful as it includes cruise and park sensors. Beyond that it's really down to personal preference and budget. Go on you know you want one! :-)

I need to go and drive one really but none of the BMW dealers have been interested in me....

I also need to offload my optima and I'm about 3k upside down on the finance. Kinda hoping I can do a deal where they discount the car a but/give me a better part ex price.

I'd say the auto is a great option if you do motorway miles at all. The 8th gear not only gives a relaxed cruise, but also helps mpg. I'm averaging 35 mpg on motorways, but I do travel quite quickly. Just had a big cross country thrash, about 50 miles of extreme fun :) and averaged about 25 mpg, at least  once I got another 50 miles of dual carriageway and motorway added in :D Also the auto is virtually as quick as a DSG, but so much smoother in all conditions and in manual mode, it is exactly that. no kick-down nonsense and the gear you select, is the gear that you get. Just the way it should be and so unlike many other manufactures. Best auto I have ever owned by a county mile and some of the others I've had were pretty good.

Adaptive dampers are nice, but I keep hearing that the standard dampers with an upgraded spring produce better driving results. It is possible with the adaptive suspension to upgrade the springs, but BMW frown on it I think. I like it though and am glad I specced it

Audio upgrade is nice too, but not essential unless you really value your sonic quality. Rearward visibility is pants, so beeping things are a must (can't remember if they are standard?) and a camera wouldn't go amiss I you reverse in the dark at unfamiliar sites.

MPE!!!" Sports exhaust is a must must must must. As quiet as standard at a cruise and deliciously naught in sport mode :)

I added adjustable lumber support, which is quite nice, but if you don't have a bit of a bad back then you might not need it. I didn't bother with the electric chairs as they are not the most sophisticated and raise the seat a little from the floor. Best to keep it simple, as the standard seat has fantastic adjustability and can be set very low to the floor.

I got a few extras that I could live without, but the auto and exhaust are both worth the money, they other stuff is nice to have. I also have enhanced telematics phone thingy. The big satnav, auto suspension and some other bits and bobs.

Don't waste money on the lane alert thing, it does work but drives me nuts.

Try parking the Kia around the corner so they can't see it Chris! ;)

Just walk straight up to the M6 that they will no doubt have cluttering up their showroom, sit in it and nod appreciatively. About 12 salesmen and women will then fight, Gladiator stylee' to be first to greet you.

Or look at eachother thinkin youre dreaming lol.

Car sales people have a nasty habbit of getting caught out by first impressions, clothing etc imo.

If i had enough. Id like to walk in lookin like a tramp, let them think their thing, then pay for an m5 cash or something haha.

I was told on day one, never to judge a person by their appearance. The only exception to that was a certain type of customer that turned up in tracksuit bottoms, was vastly overweight and sported a rather unpleasant manner. We sold Hummers to men in toetecter boots and hig-viz jackets! A lot of construction workers (usually the boss) bought Hummers.

Its a shame more dont go by that.

Theyd sell alot more imo.

They used to say it was a numbers game. The more people you spoke to, the more cars you sold. The rough figure that they expected you to hit (minimum) was of 20% of the customers (that would be 'clients' today :dull: ) you chatted to, you sold a car.

I walked into my local VW dealership in £8 matalan jeans, a pair of Tesco look a like "converse" and a a £6 black Asda tee-shirt.

Luckily the salesperson didn't pre judge me, in fact he treated me with the utmost respect which was handy, as I walked out half an hour later having signed up to buy a rrp £32k Golf R!

I have no interest in clothes & labels etc and never will.

I have been ignored in Audi Dealerships more than any other I reckon. Closely followed by VW. Skoda however were pretty much on the money. Pleasant. light hearted and easy to deal with, as too were Suzuki. Mercedes are super efficient and very, very quick to try and help you. BMW are also pretty good, but I know the salesmen at my local branch now, so perhaps they were slightly forewarned.

Just had a massive software update at my local dealers, well not me personally, my car. But it was nice that the Sales Manager and a Salesman nearby, both came out to look at my car and admire the MPE :) They obviously don't do too many of them on the M135 (I drove to Gloucester to get mine done :D) and loved the sound and appearance. I suggested they should sponsor BabyBeemer and do some deals, but won't hold my breath on that one. Anyhoo I went to fill up afterwards and even though it was raining, a stranger in a classic Celica shouted over he liked the colour of my car.

Happy car feelings all around for me today :) :) :)

A bit of a shame that the tyres haven't managed to protect any of the wheels though as they are all kerbed. :S

On the plus side, the exhaust note was fantastic and I was extremely impressed with the performance. Who wouldn't be?

Wait until you go out in a mapped one! The N55 engine in these is staggering! So so strong it's unreal. My N54 in my 2008 135i is tuned to over 420bhp but these new gen cars feel incredible. I was very very taken by it!

It looks to have the Performance exhaust. Either way, I bet it sounded great with the roof down :) That's one of the nice things about this engine, you can enjoy it at relatively low revs and speed too :)

Btw, I would think this is the right place to post it, if just to offset the Golf R stuff :D You seriously looking at the car? it looks great
