  • Right, this is getting ridiculous now.   I really do feel sorry for Tom, as his thread is being constantly spoilt by off topic arguments.   Can the people involved please no longer post if it is d

  • Ok so here it is, side by side comparison of M-Perf and Stock M135i exhausts. A mate of mine owns the white car, the grey one is mine. :-)

hope you don't mind me posting all this guff in our thread Tom, but I got my car back from the detailers and the result is superb. Super shiny and ultra reflective. The coating has teeny flecks of gr

some M4 porn

Currently on 13k and there is loads of tread left, hugely surprised considering. Reckon they will easily get to 18k maybe more :-)

Thats not bad!

Speakin to a bloke yesterday with an SQ5 and hes just put new tyres on after 7k. Says they werent on the limit, but werent too far off.

Sounded odd to me? Even if he had a heavy right foot.

£200 a corner too. He changed all four 'might aswel whilst im doing'.

I'm over 15k now so checked the tread depths and they are at 4mm all round. Might not get to 18k after all ;-)

They will need changing quite soon. The combination of reduced tread and colder wetter roads (even though it's still very mild really) results in abit more rear wiggle and TC intervention than usual. Quite fun tho :-). Not bad at all for an ultra high performance summer tyre. A mate of mine with the same car is on 22k on his original set and also has 4mm left. He does a fair bit longer cruising dual carriageways for his commute to work though than me.

Tom,

Tyre wear rate:

You are obviously not pushing the M135i hard enough! lol

Perhaps that will be rectified with the new motor arriving!

Tom, do you rotate your wheels, rears and fronts, for spreading tyre wear?

Edited by vrskeith

?

Like put the wide rears to the front and the narrows to the rear for the winter?

Nothing wrong with that George! lol

Bloody asymmetric wheel sizes.

Except probably they wouldn't fit even if you wanted to hehe. Would make for interesting driving dynamics tho :-)

I'll certainly try harder ;-)

I wonder how much more life the tyres would of had if it wasn't for the numerous full-bore launches at Santapod and the track driving at Bedford. Oh well, rubber is for burning!

I do.

My wheels rotate whenever i drive it.

Could only mean more grip at the front and the back breaking free more often? I like the idea?

Unless its snowy..

Tom,

1min 26.1sec at Bedford might have done it. Ref: Evo video at Bedford Aerodrome Audi v VW hot hatch comparison. lol

I do.

Can you really be sure!???? Under what road conditions.lol

Im pretty sure mate.

Given the second a bulb goes out somebody tells me or flashes me.. Id think somebody would of said 'excuse me, are you aware your wheels arent rotating as your drive?'

In which case id say. Thankyou. I must try going much faster..

2016 could be the year to get out on Track Keith. Really give the R a full workout as nature intended. Track driving is the only way to really get to know your car and its limits plus it's huge fun. I'll hopefully be doing "How Fast" again this coming year, will be good to compare my laptime in the M135i to the new chariot :-)

Hope the new chariot has passed the baby buggy test mate . Otherwise you will be in the doghouse with the better - half mate.

lol yes mate see the previous page.

I've agreed a deal this week to trade in the M135i for a new motor. Will miss the beast for sure :-(

Mega excited about the new ride tho :-)

Keeping quiet on the actual details until it's here hahahaha

That eliminates the Focus RS then Tom.

Must be still part of the BMW family.

Or has the missus twisted your arm on the Audi RS3,even though the buggy didn't fit in the boot.

Surely not.lol
