That eliminates the Focus RS then Tom.

Must be still part of the BMW family.

Or has the missus twisted your arm on the Audi RS3,even though the buggy didn't fit in the boot.

Surely not.lol

The buggy did just about fit in the RS3 boot, I just had to remove a bit of trim to get it to go lol ;-)

  • Right, this is getting ridiculous now.   I really do feel sorry for Tom, as his thread is being constantly spoilt by off topic arguments.   Can the people involved please no longer post if it is d

  • Ok so here it is, side by side comparison of M-Perf and Stock M135i exhausts. A mate of mine owns the white car, the grey one is mine. :-)

hope you don't mind me posting all this guff in our thread Tom, but I got my car back from the detailers and the result is superb. Super shiny and ultra reflective. The coating has teeny flecks of gr

Give us a clue. have you gone a bit left field? Will I like it? ( actually that doesn't narrow it down too much as I like most cars :D)

Yep, definitely a tiny bit left field. Certainly a rare sight on the roads by me. Fingers crossed you'll like it ;-)

That looks big fun if that's not an oxymoron when referring to a Mini :D (btw, how long will it be before someone posts 'that' Sutcliffe video on Autocar? or links to car reviews of a car that you have now bought :D :D) Are you going to track it? I imagine it will be a hoot :)

Well I'm very surprised at that, just did not see that coming. Enjoy it when it arrives.

Must say watching "building cars live" was quite an eye opener to what looked like a quality product.

Fancied a change and a mate of mine works at a Mini dealership so persuaded me to have a testdrive. I was simply blown away by how much of a giggle it was.

. Reminds me of my old Abarth 500 in it's fun and character, only much quicker and far nicer inside lol.

I know they are expensive for what they are, but they are defo unique & I applaud you for having the guts to swap from the M135 to this MINI.

You hit it on the head............"giggle" factor..............sometimes smaller, less power etc can make pushing it more fun hence more "giggle"...................cheeky, naughty, shouldn't be doing it.............

enjoy!

PS my parents had an original 500 in the 60's, a hoot up to 40mph around town..............after that forget it........

Surprised you didn't give the Fiesta ST a try for fun factor it has pretty much got that sown up. Just lacks on the quality IMO.

What's the sutcliffe vid? Not sure I've actually seen that one. Does he slag it off? Lol!

I'd imagine it will definitely make its way into a track :-)

Yeah you can definitely thrash the JCW more without fear of going straight to jail lol. Sometimes less power can be fun. Not all about the stats etc, smiles per mile is where it's at.

The M135i was/is absolutely awesome but I'm not afraid to try something different. Fingers crossed I don't regret it!

He compares the JCW Paceman to the M135. Don't bother watching as it's not quite the same as yours anyway. My best friend has a Mini convertible which is due a change around now, I think I need to persuade her to look at a more sporty Mini now.

Btw, I bet you get slightly better mpg too :)

I did try the Fez ST and it was just as fun as everyone says. A real hoot to chuck about. I'd have been happy to have one tbh but the interior and lack of decent exhaust noise/pops (compared to the JCW) put me off. The final nail in the coffin for the ST was the frankly laughable trade in value Ford offered for the M135i. Mini were prepared to offer top-dollar for it, in order to get the business, which helped justify the change financially :-)

Ah yeah, seen that one. Paceman JCW is just crazy expensive and i suspect doesn't drive all that well.

Fingers crossed should definitely save on fuel. Had 3 test drives before I ordered and MPG was great, considering. Spent a whole day beating it around and got 31mpg which wasn't too bad considering it was rarely out of sport mode lol .

is it the same engine as the one used in RWD BMWs? Can't imagine it's easy to fit if it is, but BMW seem hell bent on it's multi-platform sharing thing.

I will do the Videos posting then.  Good Choice.

I like the sound it makes. Definitely more so than the AMG A45 and I think it shades the Golf R too

Good choice!

No anti climax there. Theyre great fun to drive.

Mates just got rid of his John Cooper Works GP. The first, supercharged ones.

It was brilliant. Soundsd mega, fast enough really, and handled like a go kart.

Good choice (:

Interiors are lovely on the new ones arent they! Ive only driven the 3cyl 136bhp one, but i imagine the JCW is a right hoot!

Madrunner on here has one iirc (:

Yup, get the Kleenex at the ready..... ;-)

We've been viewing the same car porn for waaaay too long now. Time for something new to keep the excitement going ;-) lol

I'll have to apply for adoption papers for this thread :)

Haha! Ok so the new motor is going to be....

A new F56 MINI JCW :-)

Sorry if that's abit of of an anti-climax lol.

Fancied a change and a mate of mine works at a Mini dealership so persuaded me to have a testdrive. I was simply blown away by how much of a giggle it was.

Very different driving experience to the M-lite. More focused and hardcore although still plenty of refinement when you want it and still has that "BMW-ness".

Obviously it's not as fast in a straight line but still no slouch and plenty enough powerrr to have a right laugh. Exhaust sounds properly naughty too :-)

It's also clearly not as practical as the M135i but I had one out for an entire day and coped easily enough getting Mini-Furbytom in and out. We have the fabia vRS Estate as our family wagon /beater anyhow so no worries there.

I'm sure some people will think I'm mad swapping a RWD 6-cyl Beemer for a FWD 4-pot MINI but it really is a great car and put a huge smile on my face. I'll probably end up back in a 'proper' BMW at some point but for the minute fancy trying out something different. Reminds me of my old Abarth 500 in it's fun and character, only much quicker and far nicer inside lol.

I'm sad in a way to be parting ways with the M135i as its overall the best car I've ever had, but I'm super excited about getting the JCW! :-)

Car has gone into build this week, expected for handover at some point in Dec prior to Christmas.

Spec:

F56 JCW

Pepper white / Red roof+mirrors

Sport Auto Box

Chili Pack

Media XL pack

Harmon Kardon Audio

Rear PDC

Dimming mirror

Adaptive Dampers

Should look something like this:

Will post up some pics etc when it arrives! :-)
