Looks to me like some of those slides are handbraked to kick it out ;).

Rear biased Is the way forward. The thing proper super cars are made of ;).

Historically - perhaps a process of change is happening.

Who knows?

Good to be open minded me thinks

  • Right, this is getting ridiculous now.   I really do feel sorry for Tom, as his thread is being constantly spoilt by off topic arguments.   Can the people involved please no longer post if it is d

  • Ok so here it is, side by side comparison of M-Perf and Stock M135i exhausts. A mate of mine owns the white car, the grey one is mine. :-)

hope you don't mind me posting all this guff in our thread Tom, but I got my car back from the detailers and the result is superb. Super shiny and ultra reflective. The coating has teeny flecks of gr

Yeah, using a professional driver on a closed road/track isn't really representative of how the average joe drives on the road is it?

Having said that I know one or two people (inc my slightly mad van-driving brother) who aren't afraid to indulge in abit of handbrake-action on the public highway! Lol

There are a few mentalists hahaa.

My mate can make anything slide sideways.

I once passengered in a Toyota aygo. Felt like we entered the roundabout far too fast. Then up went the handbrake and down went the accelerator. Sideways we went around the roundabout haha.

Normally quite like Chris Harris. But he seemed to have made up his mind not to like the RS3 before driving them both. For the record I prefer the 1 Series and have driven both

The 1 series Xdrive does appeal to me.

I think thatd be very nice. Bit of extra reassurance.

It would be pretty easy to dial in loony oversteer into a front driver, you just couldn't power slide it, but I bet you can't in a Golf R either. Back to OP, I'm no fan of the looks of the 1 series at all, the 2 series is much better proportioned IMO. Still, once you're sat in it, it's looks are pretty unimportant unless you just want to pose of course....

Maybe I am biased because it's the colour of my Dad's, but M135i's should only be in Estoril Blue (or I reckon the orange you can get on the 2 series) , the slightly odd nose is exaggerated in the grey and white IMO.

Tom,One for you and yours.http://awards.whatcar.com/hothatch

I'm surprised they chose the M135i for the winner of the hot hatch £20k+ category. Usually the press pick the Golf R as the winner of everything lol!

SWMBO is getting a go behind the wheel today, nervous times ahead lol!

You're a braver man than me! I barely let mine drive my Skoda!

You lot are far too precious. My wife is quite happy driving around in my car with 330 bhp through the front wheels (although by all accounts she got a bit carried away in her Leon the other night after I turned off the speed warning).

I think in the 11 years she's held a licence, I've damaged more cars than she has.

just looks like another 1 series to me. bet it goes like stink tho

That's part of the appeal for me. If you weren't looking out for the brakes, exhausts, etc and didn't spot the badge, you could just mistake it for any old 1 Series.

Yeah I gave in and have had her driving all sorts since

Depends on your SWMBO's attitude doesnt it.

My mates GF is quite happy driving around in his 550bhp car and will rarely access any of the power. Just chills in it. Until a spotty yoof in a golf tried to be a hindrance, so she just said bye to him haha.

Theres some that couldnt be trusted with anything though haha

Haha, don't worry it was just a tongue-in-cheek comment. I'm quite happy for her to be driving the M135i.

In fact we share the driving quite often. I drive to the pub.... And she drives us back......! ;-)

I hate being a passenger in my own car.

Doesnt matter whos driving it. It wouldnt of been how id of done things hahaa

I only occasionally get nervous of the wheels when passengered in my own car, but otherwise it's fine.

Oh and sometimes the power applied before the clutch is fully out thing, that bothers me.

My dad nailing it in 4th and finding out that it spins both front wheels at a speed I won't disclose was quite funny though.

Mature Silver Surfers don't Race, we meander briskly.
