  • Right, this is getting ridiculous now.   I really do feel sorry for Tom, as his thread is being constantly spoilt by off topic arguments.   Can the people involved please no longer post if it is d

  • Ok so here it is, side by side comparison of M-Perf and Stock M135i exhausts. A mate of mine owns the white car, the grey one is mine. :-)

hope you don't mind me posting all this guff in our thread Tom, but I got my car back from the detailers and the result is superb. Super shiny and ultra reflective. The coating has teeny flecks of gr

Yep, there are half a dozen threads running on the bmw forum I'm on. Like what they have done with the front lights Although not the softer lower front bumper on m-sport spec cars.

My main issue us with the rear! The rear lights are abit of a mess in my opinion although may of course be better in the flesh. Don't know why they had to change the back as that already looked lovely.

Overall the changes haven't gone down hugely well on the bmw forums tbh. Having seen all the pics and vids of the facelift car I'm not left with any kind of urge to change mine for one. Especially as discounts will likely reduce a fair bit for a little while now. :-)

Yeah have seen that. Not overly keen on the new styling, front lights good, back lights bad. The reflectors in the rear valance are pretty gash too imho.

The "power hike" isn't new either. Later pre-FL cars (mine included) have had the 326PS version of the engine for a little while now.

There are a few nice touches tho like the full-LED headlights standard on M-sport and M135i.

Overall I'm not seeing anything there it make me want to trade mine in for one. M2 next year maybe?!

Tom,

It's good to see that BMW are just handling the M135i facelift ,increase power and no doubt some handling tweaks , in a very  measured quite way .

Not getting caught up in the trumpet blowing /flag waving of Honda and Ford, for their New Hot Hatch build up to launch- presumably still months away yet. (Hype)

Yeah I'd agree its been a fairly understated facelift introduction.

I wouldn't compare BMW to Ford / Honda tho. One is a fillet steak and the other two are Lidl burgers...... ;-)

This is a screen grab of something coming my way (almost 'on topic)

How soon? Will you be the first on here with the new increased power lump?

Not got the date yet as ordered this afternoon :) Toms car already has the power increased lump, as BMW in typical quite style, gave the 135 the same spec engine as the 235 just before Tom got his car. The only difference between Toms car and mine (apart from a bit of cosmetics) is the gearbox is anticipatory (so I believe) and the headlights are now LED mains.. Looking to early May for delivery at a guess but will know more next week.

Looks like you are going for Mineral Grey too? Definitely he best colour, not that I am biased haha! :-)

Im not keen on the facelift.

The front end is too angular. Like the new 3 series

Just my opinion. (:

Haha yes! The above picture makes the car look like the 2 series active tourer thingie, but it really just looks like yours except for the nose and tail (I know you already knew that :) )

I would have posted on Baby BMW but the site has gone down after routine maintenance :( Sooty Vrs has one too doesn't he?

Yeah that's right, they upped the M135i power output a tad in July last year when mine was built which was very handy, they just never updated the figures on the bmw configurator website etc.

Was abit of a result getting a July build slot as it meant I got one of the first cars where they added in Bluetooth streaming/album art and the updated business Nav with faster processor and better graphics :-)

Sooty vRS used to have one but he sold it and went back to a Cayman I believe. Think he's still got a soft-spot for them tho!

The spec of these LCi models is a bit hit and miss. I configured a car on the outgoing model and they copy the reference number that generates into the system. It then modifies the spec to suit the available bits and bobs on the LCi model..................sort of. The headlights have caused a problem but that's now sorted and I had to add headlight wash separately (LEDs aren't requited to have it). But I ended up with a bit of a Christmas tree sped

I'd love a Cayman. :)

Here's a quick question Tom, what spec of oil does the car take? Semi/fully 0w40? Ta in advance :)

Sorry Amanda but I'm ashamed to say I've no idea, I will have a peek in the manual when I get chance and find out. Mine hasn't needed any since I got it. :-)

Amanda,

Well done!

Any decent discounts ,inducements .Good PX to seal the deal?

Thanks Tom

There's only £2250 manufacturer support for this car Keith and the dealers have a quite strict cap on the amount of discount they can give. But you should be able to get over 11%  The interest rate is a tad higher on a PCP for the LCi model though :(

But the good news is if you take a PCP there are a couple of options that are of interest.

I wanted a 3 year deal, but the sales manager said I should look at a 4 year deal. OK, I thought, lets see what he has to show me. it works like this.......take a 4 year PCP, but settle at say 3 years. The amount owed is exactly the same at the 3 year point, the monthly payments are exactly the same in both examples, but in my case the deposit was £1,300 less using the 4 year model!!! Result. I guess it's because the depreciation starts to level out more over the 4th year and so the GFV is proportionately a little higher, hence off setting the monthly payments, or in my case (I wanted to keep the payments at a predetermined level) the deposit comes down.

The other interesting point, is you can nowadays make over payments to the finance company without penalty. So if you bung an extra £1,000 in at a later date on a 3 year PCP, you should expect at least a £30 a month drop (or possibly more depending when you make the overpayments)

Silly question but what is this LCi I keep seeing relating to BMWs?

It's BMW language for "facelift". I think it stands for Life Cycle Impulse.
