Haha well things certainly have improved. I ordered my Vrs TDi on 16th December 2013 and am picking it up on 1st September 2014 a wait on almost 9months!!! So people moaning about a wait of 2, 3 or 4 months really need to put things in perspective.

 

I thought that I had the longest wait, order 28th Dec pick up tomorrow 4th Sep you can make babies quicker!

Update on my 1.4 TSi estate order status, finally...

Order placed: July 2014 (I'd have to dig out the paperwork for the actual date)

Build date allocated today: Week 50 (8th December)

 

The dealer said they had a lot of issues after reopening the factory, with cars coming through not passing QC and it's backed up a lot of orders? Apparently most of the dealer's customers who ordered around the same time as me have been given 2015 build dates now, so I'm one of the 'lucky' ones. They also said realistically I shouldn't expect the car before late January 2015 now.

 

Le sigh.

I am currently at BW42 (second week in October) - 2 weeks ago it was build week 52, last week it was BW46, so it is getting ever nearer as the weeks go by!

Glad you had a better turnaround. The (ever helpful) dealer said the factory problem is only impacting Octavia estates and Rapids, for whatever reason.

I ordered my 1.6 TDi DSG Estate Elegance on July 11th (week 28)

Today I got a provisional build week - 44/14 with a risk of being moved to week 7/15 because of a lack of steering wheels around week 42-44..... (standard 4-spoke w/o MF)

 

Delivery should be 3 weeks later

Got my update today that my car is being built this week. Now just got to hope that they don't miss any of my options

Evening all. Vrs Estate tsi with a few toys ordered on the 30/8. Dealer told me mid December for delivery. Week later I was given a build week of 43. Call from the dealer yesterday and my build week is now 41. Hoping to deliver early November. I can but hope.

I have been quoted 8-10 weeks for a dsg vrs petrol saloon with plenty of toys. This sounds far too quick?

I asked this week about a 1.4 Elegance with no extras and got quoted 19 weeks!

It seems a real lottery, I ordered around 18 august and car was build last week (wk 39), this wasn't an altered dealer stock car but a new order which seem quick? Only had a couple of extras though and no 19's :(

My vrs Tsi estate was built last week, factory accepted the order on the 23rd of may got quite a few options and it better have the 19's lol

You may find some dealers have already placed orders in to the build que and wait for potential buyers to fill the spots. This is what has happened with mine as I ordered my VRS diesel estate in the second week of August, was built week 38 and will be at the dealers within 2 weeks.

If they don't find a buyer, the car would come over and sit in the dealers for someone wanting one not to fussed about spec to buy it.

They are in high demand at the moment, so the buyer market is "fruitful" so to say

So our car is apparently at customs. Car was built already - due to being a bit stuck for 4 wheels, we had to order a car that was built to speed things up a bit!

 

Just spoken to dealer today, the car is in customs and could be up to 14 days away? Is this true?

 

We ordered it on the 20th Nov, after basically being told it would be here by now.
