Mk1 Fabia VRS FABOKA working his magic mapping :)

Featured Replies

Right it's been a while since ive posted on here to be honest as I finished progress with my Silver Fabia VRS .
Heres the  thread: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/296421-my-fabia-vrs-thread/

Basically Me and the other half have purchased our first home together :)
I've given her my silver fabia vrs and gone and purchased myself a black one. A quicker one :)
270bhp and 380FtLb approx

I was going to go down the route of buying either a EVO 8 or an AUDI RS4 but until I get a company car i thought I better settle with a sensilble option & knowing what my old fabia was like on fueld and performance i though why not get another one.

Ive made some subtle changes since purchasing it last sunday:
Removal of door stickers
removed rear seats

Purchased OMP Corsica Steering wheel 350mm and Removal boss
6k SMD Numberplate Bulbs

Here are some pics of the new one first followed by some of the other one.

I will be looking at getting standard alloys for the black one and maybe some bucket seats.

Other than it's overly agressive smoke machine map for track use. (which personally I don't think does Dirty-Torque's rep much good)

Put a diff in it, custom remap so the rest of us can see where we are going and you have a real weapon there. :D

Nice buy. :)

Might be in contact soon about some interior lighting for the dash etc :)

Dirty torque didn't map it originally. While I was getting my car done, Joel came in to get the map tweaked and turned down a bit to reduce the smoke

Best get myself some more solder :)

Uh huh

top car though

as richard says sort get a diff and sort the smoke out and it'll embarrass a lot of stuff and still do 50mpg

Nice to see the car still on the forum!

Found a clip of it in action from my Yeti, it certainly shifts on the straights!

Still think this is a great base to build a monster with a little more tweaking.

Here is another type of motor sport. This machine has four Fabia PD engines fitted and mapped to stage 3  :D

To be honest It doesn't smoke as much as i expected but yes when driving shall we say spirited, you have got to keep an eye out behind you to make sure there isnt a sea of hazard lights behind the mist.

Who would be best to tweak the map. I Used Faboka on my other fabia and i wouldn't refrain from using him again. I would like to minimise the smoke but not the power but i presume with power comes smoke???

Im not going to go mad with adding things as its pretty much as it is. Maybe an LSD depending on how well i cope with this mortgage haha.

Cannot wait to get my standard wheels on. Missing the Uniroyal RS3's

Not really as Jason runs about 315bhp and I've not seen bad smoking on the videos at all from his.

too much fuel = black smoke, I am sure your map can be tweaked to make it less sooty.  Not sure who you use to map it in your neck of the woods, I am sure somebody will let you know.

oh really! :)  sorry who is jason?? if could get more power without the smoke I may have to get the wallet out :)

A member on here who is currently upgrading the mapping on his vRs to pull it into 350bhp his username is Devonutopia, drop him a PM and I'm sure he can advise.

Tweaking the map should be viable, unless something is stopping it being adjusted how you want.

Like it needs bigger injectors or something else.

If it's that easy, you'd expect it to have been done already though.

A diff would transform the car! :)

Might be me!  :D  PM sent with a little more info about my mapping.

The smoke/soot at combe was ridiculous, bad enough to be pointed out to Joel by the track officials!!!!!

Drop Faboka a message, sure he will sort it for you ;)

Pretty sure they have done all the mapping on it,as they fitted the manifold/turbo to it :)

Too much fuel or not enough fuel/too much boost, both create black smoke on these :)

Finding the sweet spot in the middle is the hard part.

not enough fuel, really?  I was always of the impression black smoke was from unburnt fuel. That said it could be due to atomisation pattern from the injectors, might not be good enough for the amount of fuel pushing through them.

I am sure somebody could map it and clean it up a bit or even hit the sweet spot

Too much fuel duration and not enough air to burn it. Trick is getting the AFR to a sweat spot without a wideband sensor. Using a few formulas and logs you can get a rough idea. But adding bigger nozzles de calibrates the duration maps so adds to the mapping fun :)

Be interesting to see the exhaust gas temps.

this is me following jason on the nurburgring in sept ;) im behind him from about 1:30 (the vid clears up) the silver fabia ..... and close later on... (about 3 mins) you can see it doesn't smoke much... (his exhaust comes out the nearside of his car!) and I believe its even better now he's got some new injectors and a tweaked map!
