New Bolero from November 2014

Featured Replies

Hello Briskoda community,

I was wondering if any of you knowledgeable people could help me out.

When I ordered my VRS a month ago, I selected the Bolero to get the CD slot and be able to get the Canton system at the same time. Since the waiting time is getting to me I browse the forums and found some reference on a German forum that the Bolero and other units will be updated in May 2015 to the new MIB versions and that the Bolero would get a bigger screen (to warrant the extra price over the SWING, I guess) and lose the CD slot. Since my car is supposed to be built before May I wasn't worried, but now I found this here.

So it seems as if the new Bolero is out now, and there is no mention of a CD slot (unless it's meant to be the last bullet point that is missing the text). The link for the manuals is of no use since the last version for the Bolero is from Nov 2013.

And now I'm hoping that not everyone has gone for the satnav units in the Octavia :p

Oh yes, the question then is: does anyone have any more info on this? I don't want to annoy my dealer since I still need him on my good side and no offense to them, the community is sometimes more informed since they don't need to keep to the company line.

cheers everyone

PS: I am not entirely sure if this is the right forum to post this since I could post here, but then not sure how the Bolero is used in other SKODA models, since I ordered the Octy 3

My car arrived May and the Bolero does not have CD slot in unit, A single cd slot is in the glove box with an SD slot.

I though bolero had only just been updated (Nov onwards builds). Be pretty chuffed if it was my15 onwards builds, as that means my car would get it. (Early sept build, getting it next week)

Lots of confusion over this at the moment, not helped by the generic info and pictures Skoda have put on the update site.

The brochures and configurators don't seem to have been updated.

Looks like we will have to wait a week or two until the first BW45 cars appear in the UK.

TOMLUX There's something about radio changes Nov 14 elsewhere in this forum. Search bolero, then look for mirrorlink update. Someone in that area may have info for you.

Mirrorlink on O3 is a red herring from the info I got from Skoda.

Do all mk3's not come with a bolero in the uk? Is the screen definitely getting bigger? one of the rings putting me off the mk3 is that i don't think the screen is big enough.

I had mk2 with SD & CD slot. Now mk 3 without those being attached to the Bolero. Screens big enough for me. It's not as if you view a set of maps on it, just media, phone and car setting.

I am aware that the CD slot and SD card slot are not located on the display part. As far as I know the display is only that, the system itself if mostly located in the glovebox, (or maybe it's the other way around).

The Yeti is getting the new Bolero, as fitted to the new Fabia, from week 46 I believe.

cheers. Now what are the chances that SKODA are putting two different Boleros systems in their cars. I can't imagine that being very practical in terms of stock management.

I thought the Swing was the standard (at least it is in Luxembourg)

So do you already have an Octavia built after week 46? I didn't quite understand your post.

On a German forum, one customer got his Octavia with the old bolero and it was built in week 46. So maybe they are just getting rid of the old stock?

I guess I'll just have to wait a bit until more built 46 and later Octavias are born and start arriving.

Sorry, decuk, forgot your post: Indeed there is a lot on there as well. But more based on the mirrorlink and software updates, which is even more confusing at the moment.

Oh well I can be patient, since it's supposed to arrive in March (very optimistic imo), I'm hoping that in the next few weeks the whole thing will get clearer.

Got mine in May this year. At the time the big question was Vrs button or no Vrs button. It was a case of see what turns up. Probably the same regarding the Radio that's generated this topic. It's not like you can do much about it. But it passes the time during your big wait...

Hello,

I can confirm that mine O3 Elegance 1.8 TSI liftback was produced on week 46 and still has an old bolero inside...

Octy III comes with Gen1 Bolero now, maybe Gen2 Bolero in My2016 cars with Mirrorlink from May 2015 onwards.

Yeti Bolero is still one piece unit and Octy Bolero two piece unit. The Fabia Gen2 Bolero might be one or two piece unit.

Cheers guys, Grumpy Finn, that's the info I got from Germany as well today (not as detailed, though) that the new Bolero will be fitted to the Octy after week 22/15.

So now I wonder (since mine could still be built after week 22 - considering the current delays) whether I want the bigger screen or the CD slot..I had the same dilemma with my Scirocco which was built in week 21 just before they switched to the newer engine, new speedo, new steering wheel, new airco, etc. In the end I still love the car with the old bits to bits
