FK Coilovers

Featured Replies

I'm a great believer that if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Eibach springs for the Citigo will cost £130-140, but these coilovers are on ebay for £154 - too good to be true? I've never used FK for anything but I suspect they are cheap and cheerful. Anyone had any experience of them?

Hi mate that does sound to good to be true. Is this a one off auction or plenty available from a shop?

Thanks

Tim

Cancel I've found them.

Thy are cheap for coilovers. Never used FK before so no help to you about quality etc.

I would go for these the rear shocks look more substantial.

Still cheap keep us updated if you get them

Thanks

I'm fairly sure I will be getting Eibach springs put on at the first service. I don't need anything more hardcore!

And they're warranty acceptable [emoji106]

Dealer has offered to do my Rapid Sport with Eibachs for £160 fitted [emoji16]

Forgive me for my lack of knowledge, but are the Eibach springs just the standard 15mm lower springs that are available in the Sport/MC/GreenTech? Or are they something else - and if so, how much are they lowered?

My dealer told me my Rapid would have a 30mm drop. Not sure on the Citigo though.

The big debate though is whether that is 30mm from the 15mm original drop or 15mm more only.

For the Citigo I think they quote a 25mm drop, so I take that to mean a 10mm drop for a Monte Carlo. But the important thing (for me) is that they will be a little firmer offering better control.

Yes agree I wish my Sport was a little lower but definitely can't fault it's Go Kart handling [emoji106]

Right. So Eibach's are Skoda approved and don't invalidate warranty? And how much are they? :-P

Buy them from the dealer and get the dealer to fit and you should be fine; haven't checked the price but expect about £130 + fitting.

Back to the FK/springs debate, i had a set of FK AK coilovers on my fabia vrs and they were without any doubt the worst suspension i have ever had on any car in 25 plus years of car ownership/modification.

That is all.

Particular reason?

ZERO damping.

we have the eibachs, they are very different from the greenline springs ect, made by eibach, not skoda, 20mm lower, MUCH harder ride (harder than my fabia vRS!) , go kart like handling, and YES skoda approved part, warrenty intact.

Just to clarify, 20mm lower than stock? Or 20mm lower than the Greentech/Sport springs which are already lowered by 15mm over stock, meaning that Eibachs were 45mm lower than stock?

20mm lower than standard.

20mm lower than standard.

Obviously, I'm sure they'll handle differently. But I don't really need improved handling, the suspension as it stands is great (15mm lowered GreenTech springs).

Just trying to suss if it'd make much of a difference to looks - it's only 5mm more than current. I don't suppose there's any way of seeing a photo of yours (or anyone else's Citigo) sitting on the Eibach's? :)

Awesome quote 20mm front 25mm rear, so lower 5mm front/10mm rear compared to a Monte Carlo. Not massive but it's the increased spring rate I need (yes, need!).
