trouble is, if you don't publish I ring time these days, the general public's assumption will be that it's slow :-/ even though it's pretty much irrelevant to the vast majority of us

  • He's trying to keep us off the Golf R thread...

  • Bumps the thread up though.

My Local Demo Type R, enjoyed the test drive, albeit short. Good fun!

A bit loud for me, in more ways than one

Not much of a price drop yet 35 cars on website.

Did it have a parcel shelf? I heard that's not included lol ;-)

Is it just me that thinks its very Chavvy?

I like it, Chris, having seen one at Silverstone earlier this year

But that doesn't further your proposition greatly :)

Has anyone on here who has ordered one specced a parcel shelf?

Maybe all the Briskoda members who are pimping a type-r can enlighten us lol ;-) hehe

Could be a clincher if you can get one thrown in FOC ;)

Tom,

Mini Cooper S JCW is thinking outside the normal BMW Box but the Type R is "Off the Wall" - parcel shelf excluded or included!!

Now that looks good. Honda have remembered how to make interesting cars again.

Yes it was great fun for the hour or so I had it around my Wiltshire Country roads.

Just a reminder of how it drives.

Hardly seen any yet customer owned on the road - always demo or Honda manager cars.

I live 20 mins from the Honda factory and many employees live around my area, as well as few mates that work there.

Ill have one in blue when they've lost half their value

Enjoyed and was good fun but dealers not prepared to budge on advertised price.

Mistry Shopper 5/10 for effort.

Do Honda really want to sell these Type R's

As I've said before I have hardly seen any Privately owned cars in my area, 20 miles from the factory where they are built.

They are just doing what Audi / Audi Dealerships are doing with the 2015 RS3, trying to not have them look like depreciation disasters,

as the VWG have been doing for many years now.

Once VW, Audi, Seat, (No Skodas sadly as Hot Hatches), start discounting in the new year, then the other manufacturers / dealerships

might need to compete harder.

Bargains sure to be coming from the VW Group to get some sort of turn over of New Sales,

and shift their now getting on Demonstrators and Nearly New used cars and Management vehicles.

Honda are wealthy enough, and successful as Ford are to be able to support Dealerships in keeping residuals appearing good,

but the days of the VWG doing that are over now.

Will be interesting to see what happens with the Focus RS, due in March 2016.Perhaps similar to Audi RS3 until volume sales are achieved.(supply and demand effect)

How did it compare to the Golf R Keith? More or less fun? I'd like to get a drive in one of these when I get a chance. Just wonder if it would get too embarrassing to live with. What did the exhaust sound like?

Not quite as reassuring as the R around my local country roads but bloody good ,precise and on the money.

I enjoyed the sound track ,just not subtle enough power device for me, being an old fart. Too many large appendages.

Enjoy Tom, recommend test drive

Was that you in the second clip Keith taking the testdrive? ;-) lol!

Local chap I know has one. Very nice, obviously marmite styling but as a drive it's pretty loud too.

So about 1.5 months on and local dealer has revised price by taking about £4k off. Realisation to sell!

Popped into my local Honda dealer today on a mission for my sister, they are so stuck up their own backsides. No discounts sales are out striping demand???

Has anyone seen a Type R on the road, nothing down this neck of the woods. Genuinely not seen one are they out or is it just demonstrators?

The red looked a bit better today for some reason but still a bit in your face for my liking :)

Still cannot explain the strangely dare I say "cheap feel" Honda's plastics seem to have, had it with their leather not feeling like leather but I'm not likely to be buying one anytime soon. Just feels strange to VAG plastics.

They seemed to have dropped in value a fair bit already. Around by me I've seen one in grey absolutely love it. But Hondas pcp scheme for them is abit naff with such a high deposit required not many people are gonna go for it whereas the Ford rs seems more affordable (less deposit but more per month). I knoe a few people who have ordered the new rs so I think we will see a fair few on the road.
