How does the scam work if it's a classified ad?

In the worst case, they arrange to meet you, then just take your money and leave you with a broken nose.

Are you seriously considering this? There is ZERO chance of you getting the car from the ebay seller, the real deal is on this forum here...

its a scam, the seller on briskoda who is really selling the car has already had several ebay classified adverts pulled.

The ebay scam wants you to use a fake escrow service to pay for the car, and they will arrange shipping as they are outside the UK. You then pay for the car using the fake escrow service and your money is gone forever.

Note: this scam auction has no relation to the legit seller who is in the midlands and selling the car here for more than that.

Please report the scam to ebay.

Thanks for the clarification, I've reported it as vehicle misrepresentation.

Fraudulent listing activities is more appropriate

I agree but it wasn't an option, I guess because it's a classified ad.

It gave me that option, 6th on the list.

It's a fraud, a Brisky is selling that exact car at a far higher price and says it's not his advert

Bit worrying this: #189 (HN07 FBV) wrote off and sold in suspicious circumstances a while back (There was a thread on it) #518 (HN07 FBY) subject to an ebay scam and Ive got #460 (Also HN07 ***) hope they dont come in 3's!!! Anyone else got a SE with an HN07 plate by the way??

Be better than Steve's though IMO  :dull:

Can't remember now what number the first SE was that I went to look at,

But that could be the FBV one, it just didn't feel right when I viewed it, offside fog light out, offside headlight out, a big scuff on the offside of the number plate surround. Despite the seller claiming it had never had a bump or a crash and was perfect.

Walked away and did a hpi check on it, Cat C a few months before... Dodged a bullet.

Just keep your eye out for an advert using your number plate. Things could get sticky on that situation I imagine?

To the OP:

Scam

Any form of 'if you send the money to *insert shipping/logistics company name here* they will organise the deliver and you car will be sorted in three to five days' is a scam. Full stop.
