Mir sounds ok. No stupid fart noises between gear changes. I like the crackling on the over run.

It should remap OK,

and as long as there are better Brakes & Suspension components than on the Mk3 Monte Carlos all should be good.

 

Skoda / VW using up 1.4TSI's before they go all across to 1.5 TSI's.

Would I buy a Polo GTI to be predominately be a track car - well that's no then. Others may wish to do otherwise. 

So the competition  is going to be a Fiesta ST 3 pot 1.5 197 bhp, or presumably a BMW mini Cooper S, variants.

So no change there then.

Perhaps VW are keeping their powder dry, until the others break cover with their offerings and then slip in an R variant for the track - boy market.

May be Audi will do some tricks with another S1?

Will Hyundai also join the fray with a beefed up i20 N ?

Disappointing there's no step up in performance (on paper) anyway - 0-62 and torque figures remain pretty much identical.

How do Motoring Journalists manage to have a 6 speed wet clutch DSG in the likes of a Polo GTI be clunky around town?

Unreal how this get repeated so often no matter how many different cars with 6 or 7 speed dsg get reviewed.

Is it something to do with VW Group Media vehicles or just motoring journalists and how they drive?

George, the later journos. My missus's Polo GTI 1.8 25000 ,since new no problems and always a smooth change my 7speed in the R mk 7.5 Estate now covered 8000miles similar smooth quick changes. WTF 

Better not have a Ford  Box, with all the problems they've had , don't think that will be offered in the 2018 Fiesta ST

Volkswagen Polo GTI: 

Volkswagen chassis development boss Karsten Schebsdat has hinted that a harder-hitting version of the Volkswagen Polo GTI could easily be produced because the “chassis can give more”. He said: “The car is so stable even in high-speed corners that there is definitely much more capacity [for a more focused version].”

Hinting is just getting Media / News / Internet space to take away from real VW Group news.

If they have something to announce why not just do that when the board approve something and the CEO signs it off, and a production date is set.

 

People have Skoda Octavia vRS 245's ordered and are cancelling orders because no build dates and seemingly upholstery is the hold up.

Maybe a VW / Skoda spokesperson could 'hint' at what the real story is.

Same with Kodiaq interiors.

Have to be more optimistic George, like the LEVERS voting Brexit. Grass is Greener on the other side, we'll until you get there anyway.

Less optimistic sales forecast when planning production levels- it happens sometime. Skoda should have informed customer, when this was visible to suppliers. Lead time delivery week extension notified . Simples.

Car will hold on on UK corners even better than the less expensive one that holds on at 60 mph. or 70 mph.

Why not just make them all good and stop selling sh!ty handling ones.   Just a Polo after all.

Or as some know them, Journalists click ons.

I see Autocar are liking the Ignis with AWD.  

Not that cheap but a small car with some grip front and rear that suits narrower roads, 

maybe VW / Skoda could get out something under £15,000 with drive front and rear and light hybrid.

Not just hint at hotter super minis.   Maybe a Fabia would do if it can not be Up!mIICitogo sized.

Bit like the chat we were having yesterday George, unexpected popularity, exposes unforeseen production built / customer interest and hence ordered volumes.

Sort of nice place to be ,if you can wind up suppliers and internal built volumes in an acceptable time for customers. VW Should have always had a plan for this "what if "scenario.
