Citigo GT-Elegance

Featured Replies

Since I've been doing increasingly more to my car, I thought it was probably time to make one of these to stop me making individual topics in the Citigo forums all the time!

So here is a quick catch up my Citigo  "Project"! Sorry for LOTS of photos, but that's what this is all about, isn't it!

Day one: 6th March 2014, picked up my Citigo Greentech Elegance. And had to get a photo!

That's pretty much up-to date with most of the little things I've done. Some bigger things on their way, so will be regularly updating this when something happens. Finally have a topic for it! My very first car; my very first project.

My car has been well known as 'Shelby', so I've got a Shelby logo and stuck it in the boot (as I say, little details when it's a show-car).

(Oh yes, and that's a parcel shelf reminder to myself to put it down so I can see out that flamin' back window! (Yes, it's a Pinocchio quote!).

Got myself a new key cover to match the car.

And finally, it wouldn't be December without a festive CD in the car, would it?!

Can't wait to get that diffuser and spoiler on!

I turned them on for that photo only! I like the look in photos, and the low altitude light cast a nice beam on the ground, which was wet - so looked pretty arty! ;P

I've not really had a need for the rear lights. I'm pretty happy with how they look just now, so haven't even attempted to get them out yet! :)

Judging from the pictures your from around falkirk area? Im uaing my mobile so cant see if its in your profile

Absolutely correct, see you're from Linlithgow. Good to have someone who's practically a neighbour on here. Tend to be out and about near the Sainsbury's in Linlithgow, so if I ever see you around I'll make sure to give you a flash!

Think theres quite a few of us from around here... Or atleast theres a good few modded skodas kicking about.

Youl probably hear me before you see me so youl have plenty of time to flash :D

Looking great :)

The rear lights come out very easy with no problems.

You say that, I tried it a month or so ago, wasn't having it, I couldn't see where to shove what to remove whatever it was that needed to remove it

So easy I can't see the problem.

When you say "show car"......?

Interesting small details though

I have plans for next year, as my aim is to get it on show at the Scottish Car Show (looking good enough to actually apply for a place at the SCS). So show car as in on display at the big Scottish show. Nothing any more exciting than that, I'm afraid. :P

So I got my car back from the body shop today - what a Christmas gift! - rear diffuser and tailgate spoiler fitted. Got to say, the white and black just goes amazingly. I have currently reversed the car into my drive so I can sit and admire it! Very happy. Window tints, front splitter and eibach's next up!
Merry Christmas to all! Hope Santa is good to you (and your cars!)

Looks smashing :) needs black wheels :p

If it helps mine cost £200 to do (not a proper respray really, from what I can gather he didn't remove the tyres and just sprayed the front of them) £50 per wheel

Cheers, mate!

Interesting... The problem is, I'm looking to upgrade the 16" wheels. I think the 14inch wheels look a little feeble now that the body kit is on. I need bigger wheels for more 'hot hatch' kinda looks.

Think of insurance though, I've stuck with the 14's they look okay black as it goes with the tyres (especially when you've put tyre shine on)

Insurance weren't fussed about the sport styling, so wondered if they'd be overly fussed about the 16" Serpens. Presumably if they're going to charge me to upgrade wheels, then they'll charge me to spray my existing wheels just now? Or am I wrong? Please tell me I'm wrong, 'cause if you don't, you've just saved me £600.

Ask them, but my insurance (LV) said a change of colour won't matter, only changing the size affects it

Interesting, thank you. You may have just saved me money just now (albeit, I may end up spending it further down the line). But it'll be nice to, you know, afford clothes and stuff rather than spending my money on unnecessary car parts... :D
