Thoose are 7.5 x 17 ET45, but You Skoda is recommending 7.5 x 17 with ET51 as I found in some documents.

It's a leftover from just sold Audi A4 Avant (V6 and also had a huge discs and calipers), would like to use them on Octavia in winter period. Wondering about the caliper clearance...

Correct Škoda use the ABS sensors to monitor the speed the wheel turn so if one wheel revolve quicker than the rest then the diameter is obviously smaller - i.e. the tyre has less air pressure in it that the rest.

 

It’s quite a crude but effective system.

Very nice!  I'm looking at getting the Borbet BS5 as well, but in black/diamond cut.  I might get the silver bits painted a dark matt gold.  My car will be a black RS230 when it finally arrives in december.

 

What tyres did you fit?

Thanks, I'm very pleased with how they look.  I chose the gun metal as my diamond cut Gemini are very nice but curb them and you have a very costly repair. With winter puddles hiding potholes and increasing risk of damage I decided to stay away, plus the gun metal were cheaper.

 

Tyres are same size as standard 225/40 r18 but nokian d4.

Ok, so these are fitted on my Mk2 currently, but spec'd with future use on my (currently on-order) mk3 vRS 230 in mind:

 

ATS Emotion 18x8 ET45.  Gravity cast so won't be particularly light, but german made and TUV certified so good quality rims.  Ideal for my winters as they are easy to clean and rugged.  Fitted here with Goodyear Ultragrip 8 Performance 225/40 18's - fantastic tyre for uk winters.

Best thing though - the price  I paid only £83 quid each for these, brand new shipped direct from Germany from delticom/mytyres.
