BHP per Tonne !

Featured Replies

Yeah I can imagine so. I've never rode a bike only off roaders, my mums ex used to be into his bikes he had Ninjas, Suzuki gzxr's and a 1200 bandit so I was lucky enough to have a few passenger rides and absolutely loved it but I could never trust myself.

Youd be fine. I dont know why people worry about it lol.

It wouldnt be fun if it wasnt a little dangerous ;)

  • Spend less than a grand on a bike and you could have over 1000bhp per ton stock

  • fold them rear seats fully flat, bossfox, will drop some good weight doing that

  • This is mine, unladen with no driver.       Add a 75kg driver and you are around 1,585kg with a full tank. (kerbweight is qoted as 1,505kg, so correct without a driver) I can't see how a 1.6

Lol Your a bad man.

True though innit.

When you're driving your car flat out round the corners, if you didnt know theres a little chance of it all going wrong. It wouldnt be as fun would it lol.

Anyone know how much a mk1 octy vrs weighs?

My dad road for years, on way to work riding his treasured Honda Goldwing and a guy who is still drunk from the night before pulled straight out on him at a T junction. Bikes aren't dangerous, its the other traffic on the road that makes it dangerous to ride!

In your dads case and car vs bike collisions in general it's true that the car driver is more likely to be at fault, but many bike accidents involve no one else and are usually down to excess speed or failing to get round a bend so bikers are often the instument of their own downfall and yes I've had a few 'episodes' myself on 2 wheels!

Again very true. Maybe one day when I relocate my balls lol.

More than a Fabia so probably 1400kg+ at a guess

1375kg so not a bad guess but suprisingly lighter than a fabia vrs.

If you look at the age group of the 'bike only' accidents, the middle aged born again biker is the most comin.

Drives a diesel estate in the week. Had a 125cc when he was 17. Got abit of money now so goes out n buys a brand new R1. Crashes on the first corner.

Saw it for myself last year. Corner tightened up, rider was already at his max ability and crashed into a car coming the other way. Not nice.

Also. Most crashes like that are riders lack of ability, panicking and freezing. The bike would make it round, if the rider would tip it in more

I must be behind here sorry haha.

Whats your new build?

Thats more than a GTR

Another kit car, built from plans this time, a mid engined sevenesque type with a supercharged duratec lump. Only really doing it to see if I can. Not looking for out and out power and bragging down the boozer, as Richard says, there's a point when it becomes no point. Images below of the rebuilt engine

That sounds brilliant! Good luck with it!

The power to weight of my felicia is 233bhp/ton.

What turbo and bhp are you running in the 1.8t?

It's a k03-04 hybrid in 027 trim, it a good compromise turbo with virtually instantious spool up at the expense of high boost levels, it's capable of making about 250bhp but I've got it wound right down to 20psi at present.

Very nice, loads of scope to play with and still very reliable.

I agree and disagree to a certain extent. Using the laws of motion will only get you so far as there are still lots of variables.

So many m in favour of real world terms. For instance my friend had a re-mapped fabia vrs and I had my mk1 golf, so naturally we had a race. My golf produced roughly 120bhp, my mates fabia had roughly 170bhp and about at least double the torque. Off the lights I'd have every time on a straight run it was closer but I'd say id edge it.

There are too many variables so everything that gets quoted is nothing more than an indication.

Yup, exactly. Engine figures are just a snapshot at one single engine speed and tell you very little about how it drives.
