1st one is a ally one with swaged ends. And 2nd is stainless steel no swaged ends.

What's the best? Ally or steel one? I like the idea of swaged edged for the hose and clips to grab onto but not sure ht material is best?

Cheers Boys and Girls

You need to have a good look into sizes before you buy :)

You need swaged ends whatever,so if you buy the stainless pipe you will need to either get a bead of weld put right around the ends or get it swaged.

Pretty sure the alloy bend is way too big to fit straight on, the length of the straight legs will be too long.So yiu will need to cut it down and get the ends re-swaged!!

There is a long running thread on top boost pipes in here somewhere, have a good read and you will see what I mean :)

Yes bud been reading the threads (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/335546-egr-pipe-blowing-off-casing-boost-leak/) Going of what DubDub has done have selected the sizes and messageed buyer to make sure they the right lengh ect. So all good.

Metal pipoe seems to be ok its the silicone hoses on eothjer side that needs cutting down?

Think Ill go ally for the swaged ends and its lighter. :D

Hope the lighter part was a joke lol. There will be no weight in it :P

Always go for swaged ends (I found out the hard way when I popped one off)made myself a swaging tool out of reshaping a pair of mole grips and does the job. Also meaning you can recut pipes.

As for clamping pipes some people use mikalaw(my dodgy spelling haha) clamps to secure them but the cheap ones fail. I use doubled up jubilee clips.one to hold the boost out ajd the second to keep pipes gripped. Using good quality stainless ones and touch wood been okm even holding over 3bar of boost fine lol

Back too the question. Dpsnt matter what material ypu get. If you have a place to weld one up if anything happens in future id go for that. Other than that go for cheapest :)

I ordered direct from their website and and paid for next day delivery... something for me to do tomorrow while she wraps presents lol.

Where is the cheaper pipe? I might look into doing the pipes straight from the turbo so could be handy!

I've paid £76 all in with next day delivery on it all.. probs another tenner for some stainless hose clips from work later today.

Looks good! Literally I only got the ally pipe for the moment but was on Ebay I got mine for £12 from the ASH Ebay shop but someone else had the same for a tenner. But like i say that's just the ally pipe. I got to build it up slowly so the Mrs don't become aware of my spend-age on the motor lol. I was gonna go with blue too. Looks good im now sold.

Just noticed something on mine.... No o ring on the coupler... are you meant to puta new one on?

Think you can use the old one if it isn't shagged mate, Tho failing that surely they only pence to buy new, But definitely get on there!

Let me know how you get on with then Jono. Did read you may need to cut the silicone hoses down the fit properly at the Intercooler end I think I read.

The boost hose seals are about a fiver each from TPS

Was gonna say, you use the ones from your current couplers, but replacements aren't as cheap as you would hope.

Pretty sure you have to cut both silicone pipes down too.

If you are after Mikalor Clamps buy them from here http://www.clampcouk.co.uk/stainless-steel-mikalor-clamps.html

by far the cheapest I have found them available and they are the genuine article and not copies. Paid £30 for a fell set of clamps, which inc free delivery.

Get some self tappers in either side, not worth the hassle buying aftermarket IMO, nobodys gonna see it and its way more secure than ANY VAG C-Shape clip fitment.

will do pal... might get it done boxing day.

Who is TPS? Just incase I do need a new one

TPS Trade parts specialist buddy. All things vag I think they are. But generally prices are pretty decent mate. Iv had a few things from them. Hope you all had a good Xmas!

Need to add that are trade only at some of the branches. Some accept cash sales for 'private' or if you can quote a garage you 'work' for.

Got mine fitted... had to cut a shed load off the 45°
