Ipad 2 - Buying a refurbished one.

Featured Replies

I'm thinking about ditching my Samsung Galaxy Note 2014 edition and getting a 128Gb Ipad 2 with LTE, brand new they're just a tad under £660, but buying a refurbished one I can get one for around about the £450 mark.

Has anyone bought a refurbished one from Apple? Have you had any issues with it? Is it worth buy a refurbished one, instead of a brand new one?

Your help and advice would be appreciated.

Don't they come with a 12 month warranty so shouldn't be a problem. The later models are more up to date though.

Apple refurbished iPads will give you a warranty ( for what any warranty is worth).  But for the price you are paying, there are better technical spec Android devices.

If you look at what is inside of the iPads, the tech is at least 6 months old, it is the OS that seems to save it, with the issues SWMBO has had, along with llst of other complaints when iOS 8 was released & you cannot go back to iOS7, my personal view is NO THANKS,

As iphone & iPad OS are the same -  read this then make up your own mind - http://www.androidauthority.com/reasons-to-choose-android-571380/    :D

Hi Guys.

The simple fact of the matter is I'm sick & tired of Samsung not doing firmware updates for my machine and I can't find anything that matches the Samsung Galaxy Note 2014. And I think Samsung's customer service sucks TBQH.

I want a tablet that's comparable with the existing tablet, in that it must have a minimum of 32Gb, it must have LTE communication as well as Wi-Fi. & a card slot to expand the memory, the current tablet has 128Gb a MiSDXC card in it, to store video, photos etc.

The problem is that I can't seem to find anything that's comparable to it!

I would say go for it :) Great device & great aftercare.

Which model are you looking at?
The Air 2 (full size, and current model) or Mini 2 (8" and last year's model but almost identical to the current one)?

Both are fine choices but you can also get the 128gb cellular and wifi Mini 2 from Currys for £419 at the moment which is a real bargain.

If you are buying a refurb direct from apple, they get a new case and battery so are basically identlcal to the new ones.

If you buy from the Apple website it also tells you the year/month the referb Item was released. It gives you an idea of how old it is

A lot of the referbs are Ex display or unwanted returns so cannot be sold as new.

You'd get a Surface 2 for that money.

Depends if Apple is your bag or not.

Support for iPad2 must be on borrowed time too.
