Railway station announcements and codes

So whilst waiting for London Bridge to start operating properly this evening I heard a call for Police or CS bods to go to X ...This is a code 2.

So Google has not helped beyond a page from a BBS in 2007 saying that the Inspector Sands announcement means: don't tell the Public but we may have a problem.

Does anyone here know what the codes are?

And why would there be a need to put this sort of information in the public domain?

Well that is the response provided to a Freedom of Information request too. Although the main view of the respondent seemed to be not flapping the public rather than operational matters. In the same way that the calls for cleaners on London Underground relate to blood (1), urine and faeces (2) and I cannot remember the others.

They are informing the Gereral public that Mr Auric Golgfinger has reported for duty, best go by bus

( I was at London Bridge last Sunday about 14:00 )

That would warrant an announcement seeing as it only happens very rarely!

The local arena used to have a stock annoucement for bomb threats which involved the reverend john smith and his party......which made me chortle when the venue was being used by another religious group that don't have reverends/vicars/bishops.

I remember a few years back (when doing first aid in a number of venues), the local constabulary had "Constable Neris" as an emergency notification - bit daft as any idiot could work it out.
