Just asking, because in the past when I've been karting - if someone spins, often the driver (or drivers!) behind will hit them.

 

How close does everyone get on track ?

If it is going to make you feel more relaxed than take it out, expect to pay around £65-£90 depending on the options and with whom you take the insurance with.

 

You will get as close as you want, up to you. When you see your mirrors full of a car simply indicate and slow down on a straight to let them go, this is not a race

Karting tends to be competitive.

 

The only competitve part of this day is when you are on track on your own for the final times laps.

Earlier we are all just practicing.

I believe the idea is to have it open, but for the purposes of order posted on here/trophies limit it to forum users.

Otherwise someone will invite along a few GT-Rs and screw everything up...

The thing about the hour of practice beforehand is it is JUST practice.  Normal trackday etiquette applies and in my experience is practiced in that time - i.e the usual indicate/ease off to let someone past, not overtaking in corners, only overtake with permission from car in front, and of course not hounding the car in front either.    I've yet to go on a HOW FAST? (even with other non briskoda types there) where this hasn't been the case.  Always helps if everyone goes in with a P.M.A, and then all is well. 

PS: For the actual timed bits you are sent out at staggered times with cars about the same pace as you, so during the final timed bits which count you will NOT encounter another car providing they don't crash or break down of course.

I was thinking about two other friends. this time.

One with a V8 Merc AMG - sth like8 years old,  and the other in a Q3 or Q5. It is late notice so not sure if they will be able to attend.

I just thought I'd ask here first before asking them

I don't have a problem with that at all Jabo.

As long as they don't mind the trophies held for Briskoda members, which I think is fair as it's a session for us.

They would effectively be guest drivers.

I wouldn't worry about the trophies for non Brisky attendees, after all  they have to beat us first  :p

You will be fine Trev, you were more than competent at Oulton Park. Bedford is not as demanding or as long.

No money taken from me and no confirmation Email, keen to know times for arrival/check in etc

I would love to attend but I won't know if I have to work on Saturday until Friday. If there's still a space left by then I'll ring up and bag it.
