2004 Fabia VRS electrical problem

Featured Replies

Can anyone help me?

I recently bought the car in question and knew it needed a new alternator and battery. I bought and fitted the new alternator and battery and everything was fine.

However, 2 days later I was driving home when both the TCS and ABS light came on followed by the hand brake light. The car also then seemed to lose power steering as I could barely turn right.

At a set of traffic lights I decided to turn the ignition off and then on again but it wouldn't restart, was like I had a flat battery. After a jump from my dad the car turned over but as I turned on my headlights and started to move, the car died . 2 more jumps later I managed to get the car to restart and get it back home but only using side lights and no other electrics.

I have driven the car recently but without using any electrics (heater, stereo etc) as I'm in fear it will die on me again.

Does anyone have an answer to this problem??

Possible broken alternator load sensing wires. Very common issue. Check if the battery light works when you switch the ignition on as it should. If it doesn't it points to the wires being broken.
