I got a clutch fitted and it is slipping in  third and forth gear. "mechanic" tells me its the cable! Do you know if all clutch cables for felicia 1997 are the same ? Some sites and factors say they are and others say the clutch cables are not all compatible? I have a 1.9 Diesel Pick up RHD 1997.

Hi Adam sorry your difficulties continue I am certain the clutch cable off a Felicia 1.9 diesel will fit the your pickup the only difference I am aware of is at the clutch pedal end some have a d pin holding the cable to the top of the pedal easy to change ,and others have a small circlip which can be a pain in the ass when they flick off and disappear down the back of the carpet

 

I am a little confused about the mechanics Diagnosis the clutch cable is creating the problem in third and fourth this seems unusual if the cable was stiff or binding I would think it will be the same throughout the gears. Hopefully other forum members can shed some light on this for you clive

Any clutch cable is adjustable. Don't change the cable yet. You can change the mechanic instead becaue he should have adjusted it properly as part of the refit job.
