Cheers Fozzie

Don't have any plan for the car so I will just see how it goes.

Bought plumbers gold to seal up the back doors properly, as they have a tiny leak. Put polythene skirts behind the door cards diverting any drips outside just now and that works perfectly and can't even notice them.

  • Looking mint as you say Chris, delighted for you :-) I put my colour coded grill on today and still might get the original grill black wrapped for swaps.

  • Im guessing you were using tapatalk?   Had some issues with that recently.   If you want, post details on here now and I can hide these previous posts

  • Glad you finally have some content Eight year cam-belt change?? Is this the first one it's had? I reckon you'll decide it will need lowering once you put the spiders on

A few items have arrived or ordered.

Proxes are here for the Spiders.

Ordered new Meyle front and rear top mounts, Febi tie rods and track rod ends, Febi balljoints, front bumpstops and rear shorter Seat bumpstops.

Going to order the Eibach lowering springs next week and might get Bilstein B4 struts at the same time.

Then get the suspension fitted in April after the Spiders have been refurbed, paint enhancement carried out and timing belt and pump done.

Do you find the proxes good my mate had them on his hold and he hated them he's runs eagle f1s now and are you buying shortened dampers to go with the springs ??

I have put Proxes on all my Golf mk1's with no probs so hopefully they will be fine.

I was going to put the standard B4 struts on which can take the lowered springs but need to check them out more.

I use that combo on the mk1's as well and it gave a decent quality ride with the small drop that I needed.

I'd like an update when you get them on dry vs wet weather wise then I will see when I need some new ones no difference is price from the proxes 2s to the eagle f1s mines on evergreens at the mo and they seem ok but do spin up in 2nd and even 3rd sometimes on full boost

No probs they should be on the car end March roughly.

Well that's Brembo rear brakes ordered the same as the fronts and also the eibach pro kit lowering springs and B4 Bilstein dampers.

Couldn't justify the extra money for the better Bilstein dampers at the moment especially as I travel 30 miles a day on smooth roads :-)

I've got myself some octy front callipers to fit need to buy discs and pads some half decent ones as im looking at a remap ive here these blt engines came out with different power tho not always 130

Then was looking at either coilovers or springs want about a 40mm drop

I'm sticking with the standard engine just now as spent the pennies for just now.

If I enjoy the car when it becomes my daily then I might just start playing ??? who knows ;-)

You can't go from that m3 to a "warm" hatch ha ha you WILL want more

Probably but promised the wife I would calm down with car spends, 5 cars to 4 so far, Beemer away soon so 3 cars.

The mk1 I kept is finished so no spending on that or my Wifes GTD so VRS has a chance of some cash ;-)

You will have you keep this thread open I would like to see how far you go with your furby [emoji4]

I will I had a 68 page thread with 70000 views on my mk1 Sportline on the mk1 forum so I will keep this going :-)

Got my series 1 thread on the mk1 forum as well but that cars concours so not much of a project :D

Its not exciting but the VRS is away into the garage today to get the timing belt and pump done.

Ordered good quality black wheel bolts as well as the originals are not ageing well.

I will pick it up on Monday and then when I get a chance, get the wheels and tyres to the powdercoaters, probably next Friday..................still got to decide between silver or grey for the wheels ????

Gun metal grey I think I'm going white [emoji4]

Then all you need is an awesome chick who buys you some of these post-123262-14250451626231_thumb.jpg

Even though it's freezing and rainy I gave it a quick clean before it goes for its full enhancement soon. Cleaned the roof gutters out and changed the Orange front bulbs to silver ones.

Ordered Brembo rear pads and Osram headlight bulbs.

She's looking good

Are we planing any ice improvements

Cheers and prob later :-)

Once the wheels and suspension are done prob going to do the EGR delete and remap ???

Remap all ready that didn't last long [emoji6]

Already emailed re the remap and EGR so just waiting on a price

So Remap and EGR delete getting done this Thursday by Totallytuning in Falkirk, great price as they have a deal on just now.

The suspension is getting all fitted on the 17th March, I should be doing it myself but I am being lazy and need to do some things on my Vw Golf mk1, I use my local garage where I get great service at great prices ;-)

So hopefully by the time my M3 goes away at the end of April, the car will be lowered, remapped. EGR deleted and running on new wheels and rubber !!
