Have we done anymore to this and did you ever find out what the knocking was

Hello mate,

 

Sorry to bother you. Mine is going in for a 3 stage machine polish on the 27th and I too have a load of stone chips on the bonnet which blight the paintwork.

 

I'm keen on doing something similar to what you've done and that is to fill the chips in first with blobs of paint then wetsand over it. I have a few questions though if I may.

 

Did you do the wetsanding yourself prior to the machine polish or did the detailer do it?

 

Finally - does it remove a layer of paint when you do it?
