230 Bhp Vrs

Featured Replies

Hmm, as someone looking at buying a vrs soon I don't see enough to delay ordering and wait 5or6 months for that. I'd hoped for a bit more.

If you want 19" wheels its worth the extra grand and you get the e-diff for nothing so yes, to my mind its worth waiting for.

Wonder if the configurator has a sister, could be popular going down as often as it does.

  • Well here she is !  Over the moon with it.   Missing roof rails though and have been told that they should have been there and to await a bulletin from skoda about them ( mind you i like it without

Tbh I need a decent size boot on the next car but I cant quibble between the ST's 587 litres and the Octavia's 610 litres - when you look them over theres very little in it.

I might be wrong, however I believe the OC3 has better leg room and width in the back, seem to remember when we were test driving the OC3 and ST that the 3 kids had much more room in the back of the OC3??

Have you got such pictures of hostesses?

Cheers guys,

you've just saved me £200 buying an Eibach-pro spring kit  :D

it has but the quote regarded boot capacity specifically. :)

Appreciate that, however just pointing out that it's not all about the boot, other measurements are available  :D  :D  :D

Anyone got any idea when the full spec and pricing will be released for this?

I've asked the question of my local dealer, nothing available just yet, however as soon as it is, I'll be posting it up,..

I like the look of it (apart from the smoked out headlights). The extreme alloys plus black pack alone is >£1000.

I was tempted by a Golf R or a E92 M3 but the vRS 230 is a contender for me.

So the E-Diff isn't actually a diff. It's just a fancy traction system using the front brakes. This car is a complete and utter waste of time, if you are going to build a special edition, make it special. This car looks no different to joe blogs walking down the street. Is it any faster, no. So what is the point of this car.

I spoke to S-UK customer services today - they have no more information than is already on the web, and they don't know when the full spec and pricing is going to be released...

:(

Quick question though for you mk3 chaps - is this car CANDY white or MOON?

Not true, its the VAQ diff as fitted to GTI PP and Leon Cupra. Is a proper diff with electronically controlled lock up.

Looks like Candy White to me Rob

I'd say that's Candy White too.

No, the vRS 230 is supposed to have the proper VAQ locking diff according to the press, a good explanation is here:

http://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-eurocars/vws-vaq-diff-explained/30560

The standard vRS has the diff that just brakes the front wheels (XDS)

So it's not a diff, after reading the link to pistonheads, it's just a fancy way of locking up the drive shafts. Even says in the link that it's not a diff, the system is not even part of the diff in the box. If the system works who am I to say other words, just don't like the fact they call call it a diff.

70 bhp short of worth it.

Dont know why VAG plays these games. They will sell the cars! Some of us prefer Skoda, some Audi, some VW some Seat.Pointless holding back on power sharing and 230 bhp disappointing

Same applies to the options available in each model. Seems silly to hold back some features so people would pay more for a VW or an Audi. I don't think they compete for the same customers in most cases anyway. They just miss the chance of charging a little extra so people would pay a lot more for a different brand.

This car seems to have fallen into a black hole. I've seen no mention in the motor press or skoda themselves since Geneva. Is it launching in July?

The vRS 230 is meant to go on sale in June and the price will be around £25.000 (EST)

Bizarrely enough skoda tweeted a picture of the 230s VRS badge today. Hopefully a bit more info won't be long.

Mye dealer said that all the VRS sold after a certain date this year will be the 230's..

Its just the same badge with black insert?

Guessing that is for the hatch?  So 900 quid more, pretty much what was predicted by the magazines..

I tweeted SUK asking when the prices and specs will be confirmed, they replied:

"We haven't had the official word yet, Rob. Stay tuned to our social channels, though."

Cheers Rob. Probably not going to start looking till about July anyway as my pcP deal ends in jan so allowing delivery time.
