Featured Replies

Yes I do wish skoda UK would pull there finger out and put some information about the vRS 230 out there so we all know what the cars was fitted with as standard in the UK and what can and can't be fitted to it option wise

Wonder if the configurator has a sister, could be popular going down as often as it does.

  • Well here she is !  Over the moon with it.   Missing roof rails though and have been told that they should have been there and to await a bulletin from skoda about them ( mind you i like it without

Gossh....gotta have one of those if only for that useful pocket under the roll cover.

Ref the motor show trickery posted by gregmk1, if you look at almost all the Yeti brochure pictures they all appear not to have the large gap above the wheels...now I know how and why.

Cheers for that. Skoda are full of crap, why would they bother with an English brochure if it's not coming to the UK. Get on with it already!

Thanks for that brochure - down side: no rallye green or race blue :( up side: that is so worth the extra cost! black design plus £800, performance engine upgrade £1,000, leather £900, thats £2700 before you add in the simply clever bits, double sided boot and luggage nets, heated windscreen and cosmetic bits like the black exhausts (i like those!)

Still a bit worried about future value even with extra kit. On another thread on here people are talking scary numbers around £15k for 1.5/2 year old vrs cars on trade in. That's 10k in 2 years (give or take) so don't see the 230 holding its value that much higher than a standard vrs. I would like to be proved wrong but would help if the skoda pulled their finger out and got them in a dealership.

oh i dont expect this told its value much more than a regular VRS but the power you will have is that every VRS230 will come with things like bigger wheels, leather seats, heated windscreen. sought after items on the second hand market so keeping the 230 in good nick will enable you to command the higher price.

Having said that - yes you are very much correct Octy trade in values are absolutely dreadful - victim of its own success - expect a drop of 50% every 2 years and you will probably be about right.

That brochure makes things even more confusing in other countries. Noticed the numberplate shows its an Rs. But the grile badge is Vrs.

Does that mean worth £0 after 4 years?

Does that mean worth £0 after 4 years?

hahaha not quite - 25% of original value after 4 years :)

hahaha not quite :P more like 25% of list price after 4 years

I've got bored of waiting.

I need to order a car today.

No information available, and no idea when the information will be available, even though its obviously already being sold in other markets.  Skoda UK you really are crap.

I won't be ordering a 230.  Bye.

Where are you with this Rob? Have you gone with a standard vRS?

Personally I don't see any benefits of going for a 230, when the options seem to be more restrictive than a standard 220/184 car.

As they say on Dragon's Den, I'm sorry, but I'm out, I won't be investing in one.

With a Golf Estate R to be had for under 30K with 300Bhp its hard to justify the Octavia 230 VRS.

- 70 Bhp less

- 2 wheel drive

Yes drivethedeal offering nearly 4k discount on the R 5d hatch version also an S3 sportback for about the same 27k.

What actual price after any discount will make the 230 worth it..?

Wonder if Skoda do price comparisons within their own VW group, then allow for brand snobbery, Seems not. I always said even before I purchased my first excellent Skoda Octavia,VW should have rebranded.

But try getting a family of four with two youngsters and all associated gubbins on a weeks holiday in a golf?

Doh. Missed that the Golf R was an estate. In that case I stand corrected. Although how is the rear leg room in the Golf?

I agree the Golf is not as big as the Octavia. But the boot in estate form gets some steps closer to Octavia space. It's true rear passenger is still not in the same league. With this said my family of four and lab dog would fit without any issue. I'm not due to change yet, and would consider the Octavia 230 but just don't think the pricing is right. I would go the Golf R Estate route currently...

I agree the pricing isn't right. Even with some stuff as standard (black design pack plus, leather etc) the moment you start adding any other options you are going to be knocking on £30k territory. Heading into year old Mercedes territory.

Now if the 230 was infact a 276 and 4wd I could see the attraction.
