Wonder if the configurator has a sister, could be popular going down as often as it does.

  • Well here she is !  Over the moon with it.   Missing roof rails though and have been told that they should have been there and to await a bulletin from skoda about them ( mind you i like it without

Not if it comes with more than £2,200 worth of extras over the 220.

£2,520 more for the manual box TSI!

So much for all the pre release rumours of a £1000 increase  :x  .

any risk that they will phase out the "normal" one and just force everyone to buy the more expensive version ?

Looks like a Leon ST FR for me next time - nice, cheap and better equipped.

Cupra ST looks nice from the outside, but the interior doesnt look premium like Octavia does. I would have hard time giving 40000 eur's for this just because of the interior alone.

prob including leather in the "standard" spec for the 230 then..  way too much IMHO for just another 10bhp and a clever diff.

looks like i'm going to have to order a boggo 220 then :(

That's crazy money. Let's hope that's an indication of the list price and it will be a lot cheaper. I would love to see the GFV on the pcp deals. Probably lose £10k in the first year.

Too close in price to a golf gti as well (Yes I know it's smaller and not as practical)

Who cares for practicality? The GTi will have miles better residuals.... Hence why the new Fabia pricing initially drove people to dealerships (VW ones.... for a Polo)

Those of us that need acres of space for camping equipment perhaps. I could probably only get a crap 4 man Halfords tent in the golf. In my book that makes the Octavia much more desirable!

Agreed on practicality the Octavian is one of the best out there but it's getting too near £30k for my liking. i bet you would still need to pay extra for nav and rear air bags which adds over a grand.

Gota say the folding caravan made more sense for me, nearly all the camping stuff stayed in it so, I didn't have to lug it all down from the loft, to pack it in the car only, to drive then unpack it and put it all up.

Yeah, get the Golf and a caravan.

That's ok, unless like me, you gave two Golden Retrievers :-0

Not sure I would agree with that - they are nearly identical (in fact, I was watching the video at work when a colleague came up behind me whilst the reviewer was sat in the car..... "Is that your car?" was the question)

I ain't old enough yet for a caravan!!

A lot of negativity towards the fiesta st in the thread :( I'd take it most that put it down have never driven one, I love mine and I love my Octavia but for two totally different reasons. Sorry to go off topic a it!

I would have thought they're more likely to come down to a selling price prior to be sold as the boggo version when demand drops off, then possible the 280 4X4 version once the Superb 3 280 4X4 has been out a year or so.

I took a test drive of a Leon FR (interior is identical as Cupra I think) and my impression was not nearly as good as Octavia. A lot of unimaginative greyness and very cheap plastics all over the place, even many buttons felt cheap. Hell, even the seats look cheap, dont they?

The configurator has been down for a few days and information on here suggests it is for incorporating model changes.

Its back up now, but still no 230 option, although it's still visible in the "prices" section on the main octavia page.

come on skoda!

Kinda think SUK are as excited as the rest of us about the vRS230

As an owner of both the switch gear is identical, albeit it illuminates in different colours. The use of satin plastics in FR vs gloss / faux carbon is not as pleasing on the eye as the VRS granted.

However, thoroughly disagree with the seat fabrics - both cars have 20k miles on the clock but FR's look brand new, where as leather on the base in the VRS is loosing colour on the edge of the trim, despite monthly cleaning with leather cleaner - having to resort to using black shumagic (85% dye) to cover this up. Also Seat has the choice of Standard, Alcantara or Leather trim - you don't get that on the VRS.

Hmm, if I want the extra BHP, I will poddle off to those fine chaps at DTUK and save myself a few quid in the process.
