Octavia 1 key programming - can it work with the new folding key?

Featured Replies

Hi. When I bought my Octavia 2001 ALH, I got it with only 1 key (2-button folding key, like this http://i1053.photobucket.com/albums/s480/jackwxb/2BUTTONFORVW-3_zpsf93d5964.jpg)

I first bought a new same style/folding spare key got it programmed and cutted. But I never got the remote lock working on both on my keys :( I have realized that my car original key must be the old style round non-foldable one!

Can someone tell me, is it possible to program the central locking to work with my both foldable keys???

The second option is to install the alarm with separate remote control, but i don't won't to have 4 remote controls :/ any help???

I have tried this, and even the specialist with all coding/decoding stuff was not able to help me.

I'm just trying to understand if it's possible to program the new version "2-button foldable key" to the car with the old style "non-foldable" original key.

Just for more info: when I bought the car the central locking was not working with the remote/key I got. My Octavia is 2001 and I don' think the only key I got with the car was the original one!!

i thought all octavias had foldable keys.

My 2001 elegance does - and the central locking works fine from the key - what spec is yours?  Maybe the lower spec dont have remote central locking.

Not all MKI have foldable keys.  I've got a 2004 Ambient TDi and that has the standard key which has remote central locking

My octy is elegance. Does all octys have the same shape boot lock? For ex if im opening the boot with the foldable key it will rub the sides of the lock plastic cover
