Hello guys

I have a 2016 Octavia with the Bolero(MiB2) system. I managed to update the version with a memory card to 0253 (MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0253T), but further versions are no longer allowed: "unable to read file meta-information" error. There is only an SD card reader in the glove box. In summary – have I understood correctly from reading pab567’s posts that in reality, without intervening with a soldering iron or replacing the system in the glove box, nothing more can be done there, the software cannot be updated further, and SmartLink cannot be made to work? I have OBD Eleven*

Jaak

@pab567 Hi. Sorry that I didn't mention You here with @ before and now trying to get your attention like that :)

Unfortunately you understood correctly

I don't deal with aftermarket units so can not give my opinion on any of them, sorry.

Tnx. Maybe to keep my eyes open, if some used Amundsen comes to market? This should be possible solution and may work?

Br,

Jaak

Yes, Amundsen MIB2 unit can be reworked (activated, CP removed) using SD card only ) MIB STD2 TOOLBOX is the keyword...

Im sorry to spam here but I can't still send PM's. For that, I need both things yes? Glovebox unit and display unit?

Br

Jaak

Nope, just glovebox unit, SD card for maps (32GB recommended so you canhave the whole Europe on single card) and internal GPS antenna.
