Brake disc replacement

Featured Replies

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, my Fabia's off the road with damage to the wishbone/bushing connection bit thingo.

Anyway, the brakes need doing and I figured that whilst I'm whipping a wheel off to do the wishbone I might as well replace the brake discs and pads at the front on both sides.

Just wondering if this is as easy as I think it is, and whether anyone's got any tips? How long is it likely to take? I want to do both brakes and the front ns wishbone in one go if possible.

Cheers!

It's all straight forward bolt on stuff as long as the bolts decide to shift. There are some very good guides on You tube :)

As said above. Fairly easy to do brakes. Try not to damage brakelines!use cable ties to hold caliper to spring. Get yourself a big g clamp to push piston back.my advice would be try using a wire brush and clean away rust where the pads will sit in caliper.

Depends on how easy the bolts turn on wishbone.think a breaker bar will help to start each bolt off.

I can do a set of discs n pads in less than hr.

Also smear a little copper slip on the back (not the front!) of the pads. it reduces squeeling when you break.
