So I bought this car 2 weeks ago to replace my 2014 '64' Ford Fiesta ST180.

 

House purchase/build next year so wanting to cut back outgoings.

 

The car is in relatively good nick. Its had a recon turbo, water pump, belts, front tyres, front discs + pads all recently.

 

It needs the rear tyres, discs + pads doing and needed one hell of a decent cleaning up.

 

The car had been sat for abit as the previous owner had a '63' Golf he was using instead.

I spent quite a few hours over the weekend correcting the paintwork and then coating/protecting it.

Cracking job.

Cheers. Just need to do the roof and headlights now. Going to split them, spray them black and do the projector retrofit.

Then its either new wheels or wheel refurb.

Nice little project! My friend has a st180 and it's a very cool and well set up car! Could I ask what you used to get the swirls out the paint work? Mines shocking!

3 Stage machine polishing using various pads and compounds.

 

Then sealed with Carbon Collective Platinum Paint and a layer of their Oracle Paint coating also.

Crappy phone photo but roof done tonight. Coat of platinum paint on. Oracle tomorrow and then the windows.

Bit more progress today.

Since buying the car it had a very strong smell of oil in the boot. On removing the carpet/thicker under carpet from the boot it was black, not the sandy colour it should be.

Removed all the stuff out the wheel well and soaked, brushed and rinsed out. Also coated with primer for now as it had started to get abit if surface rust.

Octavia VRS brake calipers bought today. Freshly painted and decals ready to apply. Ready to swap once ive got discs and pads.

The little things too, replacement key shell and blade.

 

 

Also have aero wipers, new washer jets for the front, rear wiper delete bung to fit during this week.

Can I ask why Octavia calipers?

Because those are the brakes most upgrade to? They're a direct fit? They were cheap?

Brand new and sealed before fitting.

Looks great pal, just bought one of these too. Haven't gotten around to fully detailing it yet. Will do very soon for sure.
