What did it replace?

For me, it replaced a 2000 Focus 1.8 Zetec 3dr. Cracking handling but drank fuel like it was going out of fashion :eek:

Before that, 1995 Civic VTi 1.6. Great 1st car, 1.6 n/a giving 168 standard. Was on my Mum's insurance which helped :D

To answer you, I still miss heading for the redline in a petrol motor. But, as has already been said, the shove of mid-range torque does compensate. You just have to adjust your driving style. Have you test piloted one yet?

Furby 1.4 16v replaced a Honda Accord, which Blackburn Council kindly helped me throw off a 90 deg. bend (@ 15mph :eek: ) on a patch of black ice by not salting - yet they put signs up saying this road is dangerous :mad:

2003 Impreza WRX-PPP, Prodrive brakes other subtle tweaks to 2005 fab vRS.

Don't miss the Subaru as much as I thought I would, day to day driving the fab is probably more enjoyable and certainly more economical to run :D

It takes a while to adapt to the power delivery of the PD lump in the fabia, but other than that, it's all good. Decent interior, glove box is a bit shonky though, good fuel economy and enough grunt to surprise / upset people.

Coming from a Lupo, once you have adapted the driving style you should find it fun m8

My Furby replaced a VW Bora 1.6 (with a Pug 306DT, VW Jetta 1.3 and Vauxhall Nova before that).

I miss the fantastic interior quality and blue dash lighting of the VW and get occaisional twinges for a 6500rpm redline. Then again TDI torque has many more advantages...

I started with a Felicia 1.3 Paciffic (new) :) ,Octavia 1.4 (nice Motor) Octavia vRS (Ace) :thumbup:

.........Sorry then a volvo S80 2.4 auto SE only had this 3 Months due to 18 mpg round town :eek: :mad: ....Octavia 1.9 Tdi L&K Black Estate.........Swopped that for me Furbie vRS :thumbup: ....Never Looked Back :)

Astra Sport 2.0 16v. Great car mechanically (did 100,000 miles in it) but pants engine electrics, spent most of the 5 years with the engine management light on.

A selection of Network Q courtesy cars I did 8,000 miles in ;) due to an Astra CDX 2.0 16v - this was 'replaced' by Network Q after the dealer couldn't make it idle even after 3 Crankshaft speed sensors, 2 camshaft speed sensors, new engine harness, ECU, Idle Air Control Valve...and 3 months in their workshop.

Fiesta 1.1LX - very reliable, only got rid of it after getting fed up of lack of overtaking ability on a drive from Manchester to Paris.

A selection of Metro's (they were cheap - don't laugh), which disintegrated. One by catching fire whilst parked, which was embarrassing. :thumbdwn:

I'm a self confessed total nightmare when it comes to cars! Over the past couple of years I have had:

Mercedes E220 SE - Gorgeous car, was only 22 when I bought it, 6 years old done 18,000 miles absolutely wonderful, sold it as I returned to university!

Next bought a Toyota Corolla 1.4 vvti, good car but very dull!!!

Replaced this with a Fabia 2.0 Elegance, bought for a stupidly cheap price with just 3,000 miles, fantastic car!

Fancied something a little more 'flash' bought a gorgeous BMW Z3 2.8 - horrendous reliability BMW dealer bought it back off me when I replaced it with a MINI, waited 3 months for it - very over rated car in my opinion, had it for 6 months replaced it with a SMART Roadster - total bargain, pre -reg list price

My Fabia TDI replaced a Fabia TDI... Wasn't meant to replace it - very unintentional replacement - trade in value on the old one wasn't so good due to minor bodywork damage. ;):D

Gone up and beyond the old car's level with this one though. Don't know what to call it anymore. Kind of a TDRS I suppose.

I traded an Audi Coupe quattro 20v in against my vRS, before that I had

Mk2 Scirocco GTX

Mk2 Golf GTI 16v

E30 325i SE

don't miss any of them....

(well.... maybe the exhaust note of the Audi and the Bimmer ;))

Had too many cars but....

My 1st Skoda (a brand new Favorit LS) replaced a Hyundai Pony in 1992

My 2nd Skoda (an R Reg Felicia GLX) replaced a Vectra (yuk) in April 2000

My 3rd Skoda (A Fabia SDI(New)) Replaced the Felicia in 2001

My 4th Skoda (A Fabia 1.2 Comfort (New)) Replaced an Alfa 156 :eek:

My 5th Skoda (An Octavia Ambiente(Demo)) Replaced the Fabia

Bought the MG as a 2nd car here.

My 6th Skoda (Fabia 1.2 Ambiente(New)) Replaced the Octy.

which replaced a 1.05l '88 VW Polo

the Fabia vRS has been replaced by an Octavia 2.0lTdi elegance :D

As posted in a different thread, i replaced my "lovely" 998cc '98 S Seat Arosa with my Fabia vRS, upgrade of 80bhp was a lot of fun!

I went from a 1-litre Nissan Micra automatic to an Octavia vRS :eek: An increase of 126 bhp :D:D

my vRS (furby) replaced a Citroen C2 GT (number 00564) great handling car (look on fifth gears site, I believe it beats that bloody crappy fiesta ST round their track! if not , it's certainly thereabouts... lol...) weak engine though, and typical of the french car's the gearbox broke at 40,000 miles, and citroen wouldn't replace it, they insisted on "rebuilding" it, at a cost of three days lost income for me with the car off the road! so, currently loving the vRS reliability :)
