How did you get a tracking number so quickly, I wonder. Still not got mine, order went in 2 and a half weeks ago...

On the back of this, I just phoned Skoda and they told me that all orders at the moment have a maximum lead time of 10 weeks.  Am slightly concerned as my dealer is not submitting my order until the 16th November as I want the car as a 16 plate and they say that if they order it sooner it would be here in 12 weeks and they are not permitted to hold it at the dealership once delivered for any length of time as Skoda insist on them registering it, even against the customers wishes - the lady at Skoda even confirmed this.   They are also not allowed to put a required date on the order and allow the factory to manipulate its build slot to fit with the requirements as the factory just process them on a build as fast as they can basis.

Here is my SE Business in Cappuchino Beige with Stratos Wheels

im gonna be really miffed if I end up with the Helios wheels, the stratos look pretty good.

Thats very interesting.

I ordered mine 2 weeks ago on the understanding that I wont take delivery until March.

Where did you order it from?  Have you had an order number yet?

I ordered from my local (ish) main dealer.

No order number but wasn't expecting to hear anything from then until the new year!

Ordered my L&K Estate 2L TDI 150 PS DSG Auto in Rosso Brunello on 1st July, collected it from the dealer 13th October

Revneth can you upload some pics of the car? Only seen one Rosso at the dealership haven't seen anything out.

Not concerned but find it a little iffy that I placed the initial order back in Sept for my SE L Executive and was given a build date of week 49. I remember when reordering the car Oct the salesman was saying "doing the order online will take time i'll order and let you know when its done."

Read somewhere batch ordering saves money?

Salesman said he would update every two weeks but realistically confirmed the build has begun, leaving factory, at port, arrived in UK... "Your car is ready for collection"..is all I want to hear lol.

Odd that when I ordered I had the order number the second the 'enter' key was pressed to place the order. Why is it taking you guys so long to get one ?

Trouble is selling my previous car Dec/Jan is a bad time for cash flow for most people.

Same here

thinking of selling now before mid November (if possible) and then just using the wife's car or dare I say public transport to get to work

I was given BW 45 and that stuck for 10 weeks or so but last week it slipped back to BW 51 after haranguing my retailer he got the "official" reason from SUK they say it's because so many SE L Execs were ordered that they far outnumbered the time allotted to them so they are slipping big time.

Would dearly like to know the answer too.....mine took a week.

I left it a week for the order e-mail but then chased up my salesman. As if by magic the e-mail came through with the "thanks for buying a Skoda" mail soon after.

The tracker has now gone from week 4 to week 19 and I'm hoping that's just a system glitch.  I was told around 12 weeks from order though possibly sooner.

Still, as long as it arrives unscathed...

If one has an order tracking number, is there a website where you can type it in to get an update of status? I'm getting the impression that my dealer is concealing this from me in an attempt to be seen to be adding value!

OK - it looks like one has to phone Skoda UK!

...and they say unconfirmed 2016 Wk8 - saying that they've finished with hatchbacks until the end of the year. I smell the familiar whiff of BS!

BTW, I ordered Wk40 - so that's 20 weeks.

I got my order(sli) number today. Exactly 3 weeks after paying a deposit and signing the paperwork. Complaint lodged with skoda as I am pretty sure the dealer was taking the pee. Chased them up several times and all calls avoided and not returned. When I asked at half 6 tonight when they called me to tell me the number the salesman said he had got a new computer today and it is broken and isn't going to be fix till Saturday. WTF! Pretty sure it's an excuse so I don't chase for a build date as they know they placed the order today so can't give me one.

If was going to guess what's happening I would say that they are spacing orders out due to higher than expected sales of the superb and are hoping most people won't chase up their order to put them into November sales.

Time for a beer and a dark room. :-(

Cynics might suggest that they'll try to push lease cars into the next reg (16?)

Ordered week 35, build week confirmed this week, hopefully mine in three weeks time.

When I was ordering mine the sales man seemed to think each dealer was given a monthly allocation. My order was a showroom order which was modified so he didn't use up his future allocation.

When I initially was looking around Simpsons were quoting a much longer lead time possibly for this reason. M

TheWinelake which dealer did you order from?

Ordered ours 1st Sept, was told BW 49. Checked 3 weeks ago, still 49. Checked a couple of days ago.....still 49.

That's a TDI 150 SE L Exec estate 4x4 with quite a few options.

SE L Exec ordered early July... dealership took 6 weeks to confirm order number (late Aug), allegedly there was an issue with the system. Since then learnt that this was utter rubbish... dealership were negotiating a bulk discount with Skoda UK. Order not formerly placed until late Aug.

SUK Twitter/ phone updates went from:

"Sorry, we still don't have your order - check with your dealership" (up to late Aug)

"Working towards your dealership's requested delivery date of mid December but that has not yet been given unconfirmed status" (until 3 weeks ago)

"ETA is now early Feb due to interior trim supply shortages, your order now moved to unconfirmed status" (3 weeks ago)

"Supply shortages addressed, build now unconfirmed for wk 46 and ETA expected pre-xmas" (last week)

"Father Xmas may or may not come this year" (latest status)

I lived through the above with my hands relatively tied... Co car, ordered via vehicle management company, via large Skoda dealership, via Skoda UK... only options were to throw a tantrum or cancel the order.

I'm convinced there are a number of things going on and hence the various different and even conflicting experiences.

- Some dealerships are clearly placing bulk orders, with specific production/transport slots that enable them greater margins... Others, simply don't have such deals in place and therefore get orders processed and possibly delivered sooner.

- Supply issues. Interior trims, alloys etc impacting on production schedules.

- Diesel and possibly SE Business / L&Ks being given production priority (based on pre-launch marketing, forecasting & parts pipe-filling plans)

- Skoda probably expected a good launch for the Slll.. just not this good

- Elements of inexperience or even incompetence by Skoda HQ and more so... Skoda UK (e.g. See amateur brochure errors, dreadfully planned UK Sep launch, conflicting PR, uninformed dealerships, etc etc)

- Some dealerships telling you what you want to hear "12 weeks Sir" when in reality, they haven't got a clue and just hope you sign on the dotted line ASAP (worry about tomorrow, tomorrow - sales technique)

We will all get over it in no time...!

I starting to get a wee bit concerned. I ordered my 1.4 TSI 150 ACT SE-L in the middle of September. In the middle of the following week I was told that the order has been accepted by the factory and that it has a week 50 build date and that this may come forward so that I can get delivery by Christmas. I have been telling myself that a week 50 build will result in delivery early January. Currently no update from dealer and the stories on here about SE business and the Diesels being given priority starting to get us worried. No order number has been issued by my dealer, whom has a number of showrooms, but only 1 Skoda showroom.

due to the forecast in depreciation I have already sold my SII, so currently driving the daughter's Corsa. starting to think I should have ordered the A-class, it would have been sitting in my drive now.

Mine is with Newport Skoda. They only gave me SLI number when I asked for it this evening. They said most customers aren't interested in such things.

I'm not that fussed, as I've got a fairly worthless convertible to sell and a spring changeover might be good for that!

My dealer, also Newport, called yesterday to say my SE Business Estate is still unconfirmed build week 46, they said it's unusual for it to not yet be confirmed but demand for the new Superb has been very high so perhaps that's why.
